La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Phoenix West / Glendale

The beds were comfy, rooms clean, the pool and hot tub were relaxing. It was 100+ degrees outside and the pool water was cold which is surprising due to it being an outdoor pool in Arizona. Pet friendly and the bar was top notch. This is a newly built hotel and its affordable, also restaurants and shopping is nearby.

My friend was staying at the same hotel, and when we requested rooms near each other, we were told it wouldn’t be an issue and that we were next to each other. Apparently, “next to each other” means being at completely opposite ends of the hotel. We didn’t expect the request to be guaranteed, but it was frustrating to be told it had been accommodated when it clearly had not. The bathroom smelled throughout the entire stay. The outlets repeatedly tripped while using a straightener and curling iron. There was no hand soap provided either, thankfully, I travel with my own. The hotel advertises a bar and has a bar area, but there was no bartender and it wasn’t open. Why advertise an amenity guests can’t actually use? Breakfast was fine and what you’d expect. Unfortunately, it appeared a dirty mop had been used throughout the property, leaving a syrupy residue on virtually every surface. Everyones shoes were practically suctioning themselves to the floor, and staff didn’t seem concerned. I’ve stayed at plenty of La Quinta locations before and have never experienced anything quite like this.

The main reception has welcomed us with open arms, we were tired and they helped us get settled quickly after a shower and some food orders outside of the hotel, we were right as rain, and ready to go to our next road trip the following day!

Fairly new property very well kept. Inside and outside areas very nice. Staff was amazing. Rooms were nice and comfy beds. Pool and jacuzzi were nice and well maintained. The only thing I didn’t see was umbrellas as there is no shade if you just wanted to sit out by the pool and not be burned by the blazing sun.

Overall the stay was not that bad, my only complaints were they were out of items for breakfast, which wasn’t that big a deal, another issue is the people working the front desk were of no help on recommendations for anything in the surrounding area, such as restaurants, churches or the concert venue that is under a mile away, the employees in my opinion, should know their surroundings and be able to make recommendations and give directions.my major problem was the way the woman working the front desk was extremely rude to my wife when we were trying to check out. This I plan on taking up with the general manager directly
