The room itself was ok apart from the floors/carpet. My young toddler walked around for 5 minutes after showering and the bottoms of her feet were dark brown- no exaggeration. It was appalling. We told the front desk staff and they couldn’t care less and gave us a half hearted apology. Complexly unacceptable and disgusting. Especially considering the high dollar price we paid.

Great location! This place was great. We stopped on our way back from Monterey and I was tired and just wanted rest. The balcony over looking the ocean was perfect! We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, and fire pit outside watching the sunset. We had an amazing stay.

We understand that the property isn’t new but the room needs a deep cleaning. The carpets are filthy. I went to wipe up water I spilled and the paper towel I used was black with dirt and grim.

The hotel staff were very nice.

We love it there. Go every year for a couple of nights. They could do some updating to the furnishings.

It’s was ok. Not what it’s advertised as.

Honestly nice staff but the place is really worn out.

Great location and great views

Fireplace is awesome. If you can ask to get one of those balconies that look at the fireplace, that would be better.

Missed having a microwave in the room as I could never finish my excellent dinners & wasn’t able to reheat leftovers.

Unfortunately, this was not a pleasant experience. The carpet was filthy throughout. The property charged for parking and water. The walls were also paper thin. The staff did provide a partial refund.

Extremely noisy upstairs room above ours. Person none stomping and walking with a heavy foot from 8:30pm till 2:30am. Very thin and poor soundproof floors. It may even could have been a heavy dog that was unattended and super hyper. The Spyglass hotel Definitely needs to control the environment. Maybe the upstairs unit was a owner because there wasn't a room number on the door. I was in room 112. Definitely no sleep! However the bed wad very comfortable and restaurant next door was definitely 4 star. We probably won't stay there again unless the hotel gives us compensation for that one night loss of sleep.

Great view and beautiful gardens. Nice room and comfortable beds. We would definitely recommend this place.

The location and grounds were terrific. Really enjoyed the restaurant on site and the hot tub and pool were busy but not particularly noisy. The cliffside walkways were beautiful and well maintained and the fire pits were a big draw. The stairs were comfortable and easy to navigate. The rooms were clean and well maintained, but did seem to be aging.

The people at the desk were helpful and the property is in a good location. Otherwise the room felt a bit run down for the price, needed a more careful clean, and the coffee was the weakest I’ve maybe ever had. Felt pricy for what it was. Would not stay there again.

The room is in a good location, not too far from downtown. A few restaurants on the way to downtown worth stopping by to try. That is a plus as you are not in the crowed Pier area. A Shell gas station and nice deli shop are literally across the street. The staff were super friendly, the pool and hot tub were fun and it was quiet at night. There is a lot of car and people traffic on the right side due to the restaurant so beware. We were able to utilize the fire pits for a beautiful view of the sunset. I personally would have liked some outdoor lighting on the pathway but otherwise, it was nice out there and we were able to walk the pathway for an amazing view of the ocean on a full moon night. There is no beach access but you can drive down a few blocks and utilize the stairs to go down to shell beach areas and see the hermit crabs and feel the shell sand. The room was clean, except the carpet it was pretty dirty but overall we were satisfied. They have coffee and tea in the lobby and a microwave for use and a min fridge in the room which is a huge plus when traveling with kiddos. We would definitely book again.
