I love this hidden gem and appreciate Raymond’s customer service

Only stayed one night and it was good enough.

The elevators both broke while we were there but luckily we were only on the 3rd floor, not 7th. The valet parking is mandatory except between the hours of 11pm and 8am. The morning breakfasts were included and was enough to fill you up, nothing gourmet but had variety and was filling. The pool and dockside bar were beautiful and well maintained. The restaurant was a bit expensive but also beautifully renovated with a good menu. Lastly, the staff were wonderful. Prompt and friendly, their attitudes made a difference for my stay

It’s a great location and waterfront restaurant, food is so yummy and the view is amazing. But it’s sort of a party hotel if you don’t mind the noise. My next door neighbors were really loud the first night , but second night is much better. I ll still come back to this great location !

The pool closes super early because the bar/restaurant seems to take precedence over hotel guests. Odd thing is the restaurant closes early as well and we chose not to eat there because it was quite expensive. The view from our balcony was pretty and at least I was happy I booked this type of room. It served my needs for this visit but I wouldn't stay again for the price I paid.

Keep in mind you pay a “resort” fee to stay here along with parking….. Room was clean but in need of updating. Vertical blinds barely covered the windows and when we arrived I had to realign many of them to obtain the best privacy I could. The bed was not pushed all the way up against the wall as if cleaners left in a rush. AC unit was very slow to cool the room. The bed was ok and pillows were fine. Shower had low pressure with the design of the shower head which wasn’t great for rinsing of the wife’s hair. View for this room was AWFUL. Could only see the roof top with weeds. Yes we paid a “resort” fee for this. Staff was very courteous and polite. Pool was very nice as well. The biggest disappointment was the tiki bar. To be honest this is why we chose to stay here for so many years. We travel to Pompano to scuba dive and look forward to sitting at the bar when we finish the morning dive to enjoy a drink and some food while watching the boat traffic. They did away with the domestic beer on tap and got rid of all the typical appetizers you would typically find and enjoy and replaced them with more unusual options. For example octopus. I guess some may like that but for us it just pushed us away to another location to stay. Not happy with the bar changes. Overall the stay was a bit of a let down and unfortunately we will need to seek other arrangements on our next trip to dive. Very sad as we have enjoyed the Sands for so many years.

Older property but wonderful location

At first view, the lobby, pool and patio looked welcoming and modern. However, the vertical blinds in the room were mismatched and did not close properly which allowed the evening lights to come into the room. The tub was older and painted and the faucet handles were mismatched. The bathroom door had patched paint work, and the chain lock on the room door was hanging by 1 screw. We had to have the room key cards reprogrammed each day and they didn't work the 2nd evening even after being reprogrammed. The elevators weren't air conditioned and the elevator indicator lights on the 4th floor weren't working so you did not know if an elevator was coming; so we took the stairs. The stairway opened into the parking lot and the lobby door from the lot has a sign stating not to use that entrance. The complimentary breakfast was coffee, but we didn't get any muffin or toast because you had to ask for it at the front desk. The pool was only available until dusk, as the patio was also a dining area. The hotel required hotel guests to wear wrist bands to use the pool, however, I was still asked by a patio manager for my room number regardless of the wristband. I found this to be a safety risk as I was traveling alone with children and didn't feel comfortable announcing my room number in front of other hotel guests just so I could use the pool. The valet charge was more than the Hilton a block closer to the beach. I didn't find the Sands Hotel efficient compared to Hilton.

We stayed for 4 days and it was great. The outdoor pool area is nice and cute, the restaurant downstairs was convenient and the food was good. All staff members were SUPER friendly !!
-
Was suppisedly totally renovated but not true. Just a few upgrades (our bathroom but not our friends), most of the staff (front desk & bar) were slow to acknowledge and respond to provide service. Have stayed here over a number of years and has always been this way. This was our last time. There are many other options.

Over all the stay was not that bad, location was perfect and staff was friendly.

Everything else was good

Cute property with great outdoor pool and bar area!
-
It was convenient and we had a nice view of the beach and the intercoastal The room was extremely hot, even turning the AC down to 60°. The bedding for different travelers with us was inconsistent and some beds were very uncomfortable. The rooms are dated.

Everything! The penthouse was the best along with staff! Room 808 had a very broken bed, hot room, but we were only staying in it 3 days then moving to the penthouse. I told the front desk after speaking to a guest in level 4, they lived their room. So I was just thinking it was an older AC unit and didn’t have the power. But no, penthouse is where it’s at!!!

Not once was my room cleaned and the pictures online were VERY misleading and do not look like the online pictures
