They advertise the hotel as elegant and luxurious, but it’s more like the luxury of a flea market. The furnishings are kitschy and tacky, such as the cheap gold-painted basin. The lace curtains you see in the pictures have obviously not been washed in a long time—they’re dingy, spotted, and ripped. The bed was comfortable; however, the pillows were old, lumpy, and smelled of sweat and body odour. The windows don't have coverings that block the light in the morning, and they open only about four inches, so we couldn’t properly ventilate the room or get rid of the stench. I was aware that there was no elevator, and I contacted management before our trip to request a second-floor room. They didn’t bother to respond, and we were given a third-floor room. It’s a very tall building, so the climb felt more like going up to the fifth floor every time. I was very glad that I had booked this hotel for only two nights

Overall clean. Amenities are old (but expected). The hair dryer in our room did not work. We tried calling the number they left us and were astonished to find out it was not even a real number.

Beautiful old hotel in middle of Town. Lots of antiques and furnishings. Tall ceilings and rich details, but no elevator.

Our room gave us a full view of downtown as well as a peek a boo water view. Beds were soft, but very comfortable. We were worried about no air conditioning, but each room had a water cooler and fan that kept the room comfortable. Such a treat to share these tastefully decorated rooms. Our favorite public space is the third floor library with its full skylight.

The property was amazing. Our room was room 30. We loved the history and uniqueness of all parts of the hotel. The view and accommodations tempted us to change plans for rest of week and stay on!

All around fantastic hotel with history, comfort and the best location! Prepare to climb stairs but worth it for what it gives back. It is perfect for the full Port Townsend experience!
