McMenamins Kennedy School

The Kennsdy school is fantastic! Themed as a school, since it was a school, is so fun. Bars called "Detention" and "The Boiler Room" are decorated to the 9's with great service and tons to offer. Our room was clean, quiet, and in the "English Wing"....our room was '100 Years of Longing"...fantastic. A must stay in Portland!

Great hotel with a theater. Soaking pool was like a giant hot tub. Room we were in lacked AC control. Box fan was helpful.

Eclectic hotel property that’s a one stop shop for all your needs— great restaurant, multiple bars, soaking pool, gift shop, etc. Lovely and helpful staff. Rooms are small and Spartan but totally fine for our purposes. Would stay again.

A very interesting and welcoming hotel!

This was a random find coming to stay with friends and it met all of our expectations and exceeded them! Such a cool experience and wished we had more time to explore the property and all it has to offer! Definitely staying here next time!

good time

This is a beautiful hotel. The restaurant and the pubs were great. I wish we had more time to enjoy a movie in their theater. As a retired teacher, I also wish we had upgraded to spend the night in an original classroom.

Amazing facility! Theater,Restaurant and soaking pool! Soft comforting jazz playing at breakfast- school hallways with wonderful vintage photos plus a blackboard in the room- this is my favorite place anywhere to stay! My wife is a former elementary teacher and loved everything about the property! NA

This place is as dark as a cave so if you stay here bring a headlamp. If you like 'quaint' places, this is for you. If you like well lit places, where you don't have to guess what they may be hiding with dark carpet and holiday bulb lighting, stay somewhere else. Sure the bar and onsite restaurant are convenient but no coffee maker in room and room the size of a broom closet don't make up for that. I applaud repurposing old buildings but please make them a bit more up to date.

The staff was wonderful and hot coffee just down the hall was thoughtful. I don’t know if there are tubs in any of the rooms although I did enjoy the soaking tub. Highly recommend this quirky hotel and restaurants and bars. Don’t miss the activities in the theater.

This property was so unique. We had a lovely dinner with friends, then enjoyed our lovely themed room. The coffee in the morning was fantastic! The check in and check out was easy and the staff were great.

I stay at that location because my daughter lives close by. You have a great staff in your bars. I always feel it could be slightly cleaner
