A 50-room boutique Inn located on the Vassar College Campus in Poughkeepsie NY-that offers guests a unique intersection of hospitality dining and academia set amid the natural beauty of the Hudson River Valley. We have conceived every aspect of this space with a forward-thinking philosophy. From furniture built with locally sourced wood and granite to an all-electric kitchen staffed by the grassroots local talent-we have created an eco-conscious gathering place that symbiotically supports the Hudson River valley economy and forges a relationship to the global community. Connected to the Inn via an outdoor breezeway is The Vassar College institute-a 3000 square foot convention hall providing a platform for todays foremost intellectual thinkers to address challenges and share groundbreaking new ideas with our community and the world. It encourages a wide variety of gatherings including lectures classes and training sessions-conferences and meetings of varying sizes-as well as social occasions and celebratory functions. The northern salt line of the Hudson River-where brackish meets fresh water-is in Poughkeepsie. Like waters meeting-The Salt Line Restaurant-located within the Hartwood Hotel is where perspectives cross and cultures meet in the congenial atmosphere of a shared dining experience. Not only does it serve as a connection point for all Inn and Institute visitors it also welcomes and engages the local community.

Our reservation was canceled in the day leading up to our stay. We spoke with the front desk the day before and everything was fine. We showed up the evening of our first night to find the reservation was canceled. Management could not offer a reason why this happened. There were no accommodations at their hotel or any surrounding ones.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, facilities were very nice, interesting historical displays in lobby, beautiful setting next to the Vassar Campus, nice to have a restaurant on the property

Nice and quiet room. We have a sunset dinner on the bridge rooftop and the transparent building facade has lights on at night. The restaurant provides a variety of delicious food and help to accommodate our takeout with glassware and silverware. The public library room have many card games /toys for kids.

Cozy rooms, very polite staff and good was delicious. Very convenient for Vassar. Honestly just the price.

Front desk was kind and very helpful all the time. Bed was comfortable and everything was spot clean. We enjoyed our stay, we relaxed and loved all accommodations.

The room was clean and spacious. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast menu at Salt Line is very limited and the hotel is on the expensive side. That said, if visiting Vassar College, the location can't be beat.
