One of the nicest places we have stayed at. Staff very professional and pleasant, the room clean and comfortable, the breakfast very good. Good location also.

When we reserved we asked if they had truck/boat parking? They said yes and they did not. Lobby, hallways and elevator carpets were very dirty. Rooms were nice and clean. It was nice to have the resteraunt/bar attached to the motel, great food! Breakfast starts at 6AM but eggs and sausage were 15 minutes late. Also I might add that there must be a biker bar close by because we had to put up with that noise until around midnight! It's close off 35 and gas and food are across the street at Kwik Trip. We've stayed in worse places but also better. I'll say 3/5 stars.

Our stay at the American Inn was great. The rooms were very spacious and clean. But our beds were a little too firm for us. This place would be on our radar for our next visit.

Clean room, good breakfast

You can tell by appearance that the property is dated, but functional. It just needs a few updates, maybe walk in showers for guest with no children and new bathtubs throughout. We had a great time with our family in the pool and hot tub, just needed more towels on the weekend. The breakfast could have been better 😋 All and all we had a great time in the Duluth area exploring! The staff was very helpful with extra blankets and pillows for our room.

We had a great stay. The pool and hot tub was loved by all family members. Rooms were clean, fresh, crisp, comfortable. The included breakfast was amazing! My husband and son stuffed themselves. I thought is was so cool how the stock it and delicious! And dog friendly! We will definitely be booking again!

We’ve stayed at this hotel several times, usually a great experience. Only issue we had this last time was we were given keys to the wrong room. Another couple walked in while we just got there. Not the end of the world but could’ve ended up being super awkward!

On our first night we found a huge black beetle in the bathroom. The management offered a 15% discount on our room, nothing else. Housekeeping never came, we never had fresh linens and the shower had empty shampoo and conditioner upon arrival. 15% isn’t much of a deal when experiencing something like that. The pool was so full of chemicals just the air burned my eyes. My kids were swimming when management used a Menards bucket to dump In chemicals. Why do they do this WHILE kids are swimming? The breakfast was decent, but the seating for eating was the lobby with minimal tables for all visitors. No dining area. We had no options but to take our food to our rooms.

Stay was ok, room was given to another traveler in our group. Had to make do with 1 bed and a pull out sofa.

The bed covers had stains and the grout on the bathroom floor was nasty including black in color along the shower. Breakfast food was good but the coffee was horrible.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We could have used a few more utensils in our kitchenette, but that was a minor thing in a very nice stay. The room was comfortable, breakfast was solid, and it’s a quick drive to downtown Duluth.
