Been staying at the Whitney Peak Hotel for more than twenty years. It has gone downhill recently - probably related to the Hilton purchase. Some of the staff seem to be out-to-lunch. Asked for a restaurant recommendation and was directed to Denny's. Not OK. The Whitney Peak is still the only hotel in Reno I am aware of that does not have a casino and does not allow smoking. Still important to me. Room was clean. Bedframes appear to have been replaced with cheap junk. Headboards too. Very hard to find a good place to plug in adapters for charging electronics. Bathroom seemed to be the only option. Not convenient if you need your phone during the night or for alarms, etc. The Whitney Peak has become very popular with airline crews. Probably because there is no casino and no smoking. Probably also has something to do with the purchase by Hilton. The restaurant is OK, but there are much better places to eat in Reno.

Filtered water dispensers on property on each floor make packing light and provide you with a clean source of water for your room or for any outings you have. Staff are always helpful when you need any assistance check out there little restaurant downstairs pricing is decent. Don’t forget to take the challenge and climb up that rock wall on the side of the hotel you won’t regret it

-
No microwave no screens on the windows
-
Proximity to Amtrak Roads closed to access property. No breakfast in concierge lounge.
-
The location was ok. In the middle of downtown and it was quite busy. You can walk around and have great places to eat.
-
How safe and secure the property is, and location There wasn’t that much parking so I felt like I had to get a valet service
-
Cool vibe, nice hotel. Staff was very friendly.

Close to everything downtown.

Really great location. Best pic yet!

There was no parking so we had to park a couple of blocks away. We were not even able to drive up to the hotel entrance to unload our luggage. We were given a pass to the lounge at check-in, but it was open only until 7 pm (around the time we arrived). In the morning, the only options were coffee and tea. The actual hotel was nice and we appreciated the fact that it was non-smoking and did not have a casino! Fortunately there were a few nearby restaurants not attached to casinos.

You need to put some type of protection on these corners

Nice central location. The front desk and valet staff were superb. The facilities were not well taken care of. The ac in the room was non existent. The housekeeping of the room was well below standard, hairs on the bathroom ceiling, stained floors/grout.
-
Very clean and spacious rooms!!! Staff was great and helpful. No casino which was a bonus. Centrally located in downtown Reno. Nice and quiet, too.

Quick overnight stay for a wedding. Traffic getting to hotel was horrible so we had only time to check in change and get to wedding. The valet staff was EXCELLENT and accomodated our super quick turn times. Extremely helpful!

Let’s start with this being a $325 room in RENO. When I walked in the room, it had an odd smell. It turns out there was an unflushed turd in the toilet. Then I left quickly to report to the front desk and the elevator got stuck with me in it for 10 minutes. They offered lounge access as the “apology.” Oh, and the TV would not turn on either.

Parking was poor. Need access to be on the north west corner of the garage closest to the hotel. To walk all of the way to the far side of the garage to get on the elevator is ridiculous.
