Med City Inn & Suites - Mayo Clinic Area

Room was clean. Breakfast was average

I should have looked at the reviews a bit better before I booked. This is a solid 2-star hotel, but I prefer better. The carpet was a bit sticky (or something) so I bought some slides to wear the next morning. It’s cheap enough, and I guess I got what I paid for. The TV didn’t work right all the time - sometimes looking for service. I couldn’t get the WiFi to work but I had good reception so I didn’t ask about it. In general, it looks a bit old and tired. My key wouldn’t work at the end of each day so I had to go to the front desk - and twice the staff were away so I had to wait for several minutes to get assistance. I looked at the breakfast the last day and left uninspired and decided to go find a protein shake. Your mileage may vary, but this is not for me.

The room we had, the stovetop was 2 burners right by the sink, did not use those cause of preference. Was not appealing to use. Fridge was full size and great and we made use of that. Microwave was standard. Plenty of room to maneuver for wheelchairs if that is a need. Mattresses were firm and decent. Breakfast (6-10 am)options, cereal, bagels, bread, toaster, oatmeal w/toppings, fridge with milk cartons, yogurt. Hot items are scrambled eggs (made from bag), sausage patties, and a pancake machine that makes 2 at a time. Over the weekend, the pancake machine was giving the breakfast attendant issues and it felt like an inconvenience to ask for folks to ask the attendant to fix it, or to make more scrambled eggs. There were a lot of folks that came between 9 am and 10 am and it seemed stressful for the attendant to decide to make more and was a problem if the machine ran out or was jammed. Kind of ruined the benefit that so many count on. Pool area was good, hot tub and pool was a nice size. Kiddie pool was under maintenance the last two days but was of no concern to us. Game room games cause .75 to $1 a play and is skee ball, a prize game and 2 others. Not enough room for an adult to throw skee ball. Hallways had a musty smell and the re is only one elevator that is a small elevator that is in the middle of the complex. Great location to downtown Rochester. Thanks for reading.

it was nice for what we stayed for

The room was very clean. Excellent stay for the price.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were in town for Mayo appts and its just nice to have a quiet, relaxing, comfortable room ro stay while going through alot of appts and procedures.

Breakfast at 6:00 wasn’t ready. Oatmeal, pancake mix, hot hings tricked out between 6:00and 6:20.

Location is nice for running. The gym equipment was only 2 pieces but was well maintained. The key card stopped working 4x in 3 days, and of course it’s when you have a lot in your hands and walking all the way to the front desk is inconvenient. The internet stopped working several times in the middle of working on my computer, that was very frustrating!

The hallways smelt like pee, there was throw up in the pool area nobody cleaned up, they apparently ran out of towels, and the whole kiddie pool was closed off! To top it off we were suppose to have a conjoined room as we stayed with our kids and they gave us the wrong room and stated their conjoined rooms were under a deep clean, everyone one!!? Extremely disappointed with this stay as I was expecting so much more.

This is a very reasonable location close enough to everything. It was the quietest location very peaceful. The only downside was the mattress was lumpy. It was a wonderful stay.

Nice place to stay even though it could use some updates. It was clean and great place to have access to St Mary's Hospital.

Staff at front desk varied from nice to snarky. My Doctor cancelled my surgery for medical reasons & ordered me back in 2 weeks. No refunds or credits at given or allowed. Think carefully about this if booking this property! I’ll never use Expedia again for flights or hotels, never.

Clean room and the staff is nice

Hallway was musty. Location was great for access to Mayo and a walking trail close by.

Everything was good. The only issue was the hot tub not in service.

Second stay at this hotel. Very economical for the budget minded. Had all the amenities. A nice comfortable bed and stay. Was so convenient to Mayo Clinic and restaurants, Highly recommended! Even has a local shuttle, an on site Famous Daves BBQ restaurant, and a relief area for pets. Is quiet and has plenty of close secure parking. Is an older location, but not missing a thing. Staff is helpful and very courteous. Is a terrific gem with really spacious rooms.

Desk clerk did not greet us and was indifferent with our disappointment that the room we reserved months in advance was occupied. No information was given about breakfast, hot tub being out of order or location of the elevators. Just a shrug and " down that way". Toilet was installed on an angle from the wall, paper holder was installed crooked , mold on floor tiles and safety grip was installed on the wrong side of the shower that would only help you step out of the shower and onto the toilet. This was a return trip but will NOT be returning.
