Holiday Inn Express Rochester - University Area by IHG

Excellent hotel, will definitely stay again.

I needed a place close to the hospital and it was an easy ride to and from. It was clean. As a woman that was staying alone, I didn’t feel super safe. The second lock on the main door was loose and could have easily been manipulated. They also gave me a connecting room and the door that separated the two had an incredibly flimsy lock and I wasn’t sure if it worked properly or not. Someone could have absolutely gotten in if they wanted to. I think the property should consider checking them and replacing with something more secure. It was fine for a night, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Clean room and quiet place to rest

Hotel modern clean well maintained staff excellent. Great value

Good

Clean quiet near U OF R

Ok

Staff were polite. Property was dirty. Room was dirty. Shades were broken. Elevator had broken buttons and food garbage in it. Coffee had missing top. Outside was dirty. It was very loud and you could hear everything. Do not recommend.

The hotel was wonderful! The staff was very kind, the 24/7 coffee was great and the complimentary breakfasts were always delicious. Great location in relation to town, and the pool and rooms were very nice!

Milk was expired at breakfast. comforter was stained and bed and door didn’t shut all tho way.

Not enough space to walk past the bed to get to the air conditioner or the closet.

Was outdated and tiny but did the job. Some minor things/fixtures were broken and needed updating. Pool and location were a bonus. I would stay there again.

The lighting in this hotel room was among the worst lighting in any hotel room I have stayed in in the 21st century. Truly. That bad. Please. Do something.

We've stayed at this location multiple times. It works for parents with kids visiting museums and events in downtown Rochester. It's only 15 from downtown. The positives include affordable, reasonably clean, an included decent breakfast, plenty of parking, and comfortable beds. The mediocre is that the rooms lack places to hang clothes and towels in the bathrooms, the walkways in the room are tight, the bathroom fixtures are warn and sometimes take fiddling to make work properly, the dining room is best early in the morning because it gets very full as the morning goes later, and the pool can be overly crowded depending on time of day. It's not posh, but it's good value for the money and we've never had problems with noise or unresponsive staff.

Stay was great. Only negative was there was no roaster at the continental breakfast to toast bagels or bread

Great location! Friendly staff. Pool is well maintained and breakfast included with guru stay. When we checked into our room, the toilet pot was dirty and hand wash wasn’t refilled but was done after we requested. Overall had a great stay. Recommended!
