DoubleTree by Hilton Boston - Rockland

I love that we get water and cookies when arriving.

All of the staff that I encountered from when I arrived, to having a drink at the restaurant, and when I left were outstanding at what they do. My first room that I went to had a significant, noisy leak coming from the shower head. After informing the employee at the front desk about that, I was moved and shown to a room that was perfect, all the while she was seamlessly dealing with other issues and guests. I think her name was Emily. Total rockstar employee that made my stay great. I'd certainly stay there again.

Unfortunately it seems the DoubleTree Rockland has declined over the last several years. Most recently I encountered a wide range of problems. To start, the fitness center is very poorly maintained. My most recent visit I discovered the Treadmill, Peloton bike and Universal Weight Rack all had defects. In addition, there were no workout towels, or water cups. I reported these issues to the front desk, and while they were sympathetic, they couldn't resolve the issues. In my room I had a faulty air conditioner, and no liquid soap. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay.

The hotel is easy to access from the Highway. This hotel needs some renovations it’s a bit run down. Beds were comfortable, good size room and bathroom. Easy check-in but forgot to say that you have to ask for the room to be cleaned, they do it every 3 days. The day we arrived, carpet wasn’t vacuumed but all the rest was done. Second day, they made the beds, but forgot to put more facecloths, forgot to give new drinking glasses, empty the ice bucket. Third day, we ran out of shampoo. So, it’s a frustrating to pay 200$ USD/night for that kind on service. Never had any problems with Hilton hotels before. Never had to make a list of basic cleaning demands before either and I am a seasoned traveller! So be aware.

The stay was great! The cookies were amazing as usual. Will definitely stay here again.

Very clean. Great snack selection if needed. Loved the free cookie. Room was very clean and extremely comfortable. I didn't want to wake up

After I registered, I went to open the door to my room & found a barking dog trying to get out.

Great stay! From the super nice lady at check in, to the room, to the personal welcome message on the TV screen. Only issue was a dripping shower faucet. I told the desk about it and she said she would tell maintenance. Room was clean with great amenities.

Would definitely consider staying again.

Standard mid-range travel hotel. Nothing particularly special and nothing particularly problematic. Would have liked a better selection at the restaurant but that is a minor observation.

Only thing that was disappointing, pool wasn’t open

Inside, definitely not the best signage to mark where the gym is and there’s no statement that the pool is closed. You only know that by walking by and it’s June so definitely should be open. The lobby definitely feels dated, which seems to be the theme for the hotel the elevators make a very hard clunk sound, and not the best feeling in the world. The hallway is definitely feel dark and dreary. The room isn’t much better. It’s a dark theme with colors it just felt old and dated the bathroom was spacious, but the towel rack was literally like 2 feet off the ground, which was weird the showerhead and all the mechanical parts for the shower were rusted and very old looking the faucet, also leaked constantly even when you tightly turned it off it still would keep running a decent little stream. Overall, the hotel needs a serious refurbishment.

It was fine for what we needed.

THE BATHROOM OUTLET DID NOT WORK. So I HAD TO PLUG THE DRYER IN A ROOM OUTLET AND THE MAKEUP MIRROR CANNOT BE MOVED WHEN THE BATHROOM OUTLET IS NOT WORKING. YES, I DID HIT THE RESET BUTTOM SEVERAL TIMES AND REPORTED IT AT LEAST 3 TIMES TO FRONT DESK. WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO TO A HOSPITAL AND SEE YOUR TOWELS STORED AND HANGING NEAR THE FLOOR?? BIG DESIGN FLAW. NO, I DID NOT USE THE HAND TOWELS FOR THAT REASON. YES I WORK IN THE MEDICAL FIELD. NO HOUSE KEEPING CANNOT CLEAN THE FLOOR WITHOUT SPREADING GERMS.
