We'd definitely stay again. The only issue we had was we needed a blanket for the pull out couch as we had 2 sleeping there ...and the front desk said they didn't have any more blankets. They gave us a couple more sheets. We were so exhausted, it was ok and we fell asleep quickly. But it would have been more comfortable to have blankets. I didn't expect a Marriott to run out of blankets is all. But we were happy there

I have been in the hospitality industry—specifically Guest Services—for more than 20 years, and I understand the challenges of staffing and labor management. However, my experience checking into the Fairfield Inn DTW on Sunday, July 19, at approximately 8:00 PM was unacceptable. At the time of my arrival, there was only one employee working the front desk and handling guest check-ins. I genuinely felt bad for the associate, who was working incredibly hard to keep up with the volume of guests. The situation was unfair to both the employee and your guests. As a result, I waited approximately 20 minutes in line before being checked in. This was not a perceived wait time—it was an actual 20-minute wait after a long and exhausting day of travel. More concerning was the impression this created for arriving guests. There were several other guests waiting in line, and the experience was far from the welcoming arrival that Marriott is known for. First impressions matter, and this was a very poor one. I recognize that staffing decisions are not easy, but having a single employee responsible for the front desk during a busy evening arrival period is not setting your team—or your guests—up for success. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to evaluate staffing levels during peak check-in times.

Everything was good, except the carpet needs a deep cleaning
-
We were given a room that was already occupied by somebody else dirty beds, trash, the carpet all through the hotel had dirty spots all over it and it smelled like marijuana. not good for travelers as an airport hotel
-
The pool and hot tub are permanently closed. I went to use the dryer to do some laundry and it wouldn't work. The staff was so nice! They dryed and FOLDED my clothes for me! The staff was great!!

Tried to call the front desk several times prior to arrival as our flights were delayed. No one answers the phone and there is no voicemail. How to get from the airport to the hotel isn't clear. Thankfully AI could answer that one. Best pillows at a hotel ever. Beds are very soft. Breakfast is very weak for a Fairfield inn. It's a place to crash for the night but wouldn't recommend for longer.

The Continental breakfast was terrible. The oranges were extremely old and very dried out. The sausage sandwich was extremely dried out. Biscuits were very hard and the sausage patties was not edible.

hot tub was not working

My room was not clean when i checked in… ruined the experience for me. I didn’t expect lavish but the cleanliness really through me off. The employee at the front desk did give me a hard time in the beginning but i guess I’ll see how helpful she was once i received my refund.

Hot water took a while in shower. Rooms a little loud with planes. Decent breakfast.

Our granddaughter woke up after breakfast ended, but the kitchen staffmember was very kind and got out some breakfast for her.

LINENS NEED UPDATING

Hot tub was broken. I didn't like the hot items they had for breakfast except the egg souffle on the metal cups. Hotel was clean. Liked how there was a button to push for do not disturb and clean the room. Although they never freshened up the room while I was there. I think I got up too late. The shower was up in a way that I did not get water all over the floor I liked that.

The first room they gave us was still dirty at 8pm, the second room had no hot water for a shower, the hot tub did not work, we did not get our wake up call. Front desk staff was rude, she said she was the manager as she was very rude. I want a refund
