All 38 cabooses (19 of which were once part of the Pennsylvania Railroad) are decorated in the paint schemes of America's most famous railroads. The rooms are divided into 11 general floor plans, each catered to the number of guests for the evening. There's also a baggage car, mail car and a home away from home called the Shady Rest Hotel Farmhouse Efficiency Suite. And the best part is, you never have to leave the property -- it has everything you could possibly need on site. Explore Amish life on an Amish buggy ride, play games at the arcade, pet animals at the zoo. There's also a restaurant on-site, Casey Jones' Restaurant, and for a late-night snack, guests can stop by the take-out ice cream parlor, Janie Jones’.

This place is the ultimate fun for train lovers, as well as a laid back time away from the hustle & bustle! We stayed in a 2- double bed caboose- super fun and unique experience! Clean, comfy, private, and quiet (despite being near the road)! The staff is absolutely amazing and sweet... and we could watch the trains go by from our caboose doorstep! I've never been anywhere like this!

I liked the friendly atmosphere of the staff. They were also helpful & accommodating to our needs. I didn't like the size of the room. I accidently reserved the wrong size.

The staff here treat you like family. It's a great atmosphere. The surroundings are beautiful, and the attractions are various and all enjoyable, from the dear animals in the petting zoo to walking trails and museums. The all day restaurant is also convenient with good food.

It was a very pleasant stay. Caboose was recently painted outside. It did lean a little. Round pills would roll off the table but that was OK. It wasn't that bad. It was very clean. No complaints on the motel.

The petting zoo was lots of fun!! There is a lovely gift shop and the Toy Train Museum is a must see.
