Candlewood Suites San Antonio Lackland AFB Area by IHG

Stayed for 3 nights while in town for my son's BMT Graduation. Super clean, staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and very well equipped. Highly recommend and will stay here again

**READ 1ST BEFORE BOOKING** This is the only hotel I have ever had to pay completely upfront for, usually they just put the incedintal charge on your card until you check out. I had no problem with this but just found it odd. Also the elevator was not working and we wernt informed of that until we made it to the elevator and it said out of order. The carpet in my room felt wet at 1st then realized it was “sticky” like maybe it had been shampooed but not finished. The showers drain plug was broken and we had to keep it lifted up with the knob for the water to drain properly. Also you were either freezing or hot. It was like the thermostat didn’t register a normal 70-71 degrees. MOST important we had the lens covers to our back tail lights stolen off in the middle of the night. And lastly even though this hotel is close to the base it is in a rough area. Lots of homeless people and people standing on corners asking for money and loitering at the corner stores looking sketchy.

Room was exceptionally clean, and the staff was amazing! So accommodating Well, I would have like an outdoor pool. But everything else is great.

Though, Internet was not working during stay there.

everything was great and quiet, the back gate closes at 9pm and maps always takes you to the back gate so after 9pm use the one way frontage road entrance

The rooms were very clean, including restrooms! The hotel in general was great!

The appearance of the room was clean however room 410 had bugs. They looked like water bugs. Luckily we had 2 rooms so we all stayed in one. The staff was friendly.

Room was clean. Laundry was free and worked well. Kitchen in the suite not have an oven! So everything had to be cooked in a microwave, or stove top. The room had a recliner that can be used to sleep in if that is needed. Staff were very, very helpful.

Professional and kind staff. Clean rooms with cold air conditioning. Close to Lackland AFB. Air conditioner was noisy when in operation. Elevator was unusually hot when inside. Dryer for laundry, took a very long time to dry cloths. No Coke zero.

Large clean room. Friendly front desk staff. I plan to stay with them again whenever I take a trip to San Antonio - we’re not fans of being or driving downtown.

Rooms were okay. Staff was pretty nice when we arrived. One elevator was broken. A storm came through and the second elevator broke so being on the second floor with lots of luggage and kids was tough. Locking the back gate by a certain time as an inconvenience. We were not from the area and our GPS continued to route us that way so if we would get back after a certain time we’d have to go all the way back around to get in through the entrance coming off the highway. I get the safety measure around the parking lot, but there’s gotta be a different method.

The facility and staff The elevator was broken made it a little difficult to take our luggage to our room. But the front desk made up for it! They are amazing
