It’s an old property, tough to upgrade. Great great location!

Everything about the property and staff was great from the start. Very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be staying here again soon!

Our second time staying here. We love it and the fact that’s it’s within walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

The food, drinks and bar staff on the other hand were amazing. Best Caesar salmon I have had. The lady that checked us in was very helpful and gave us comped dinner and drink cards for my birthday and I did really appreciate that extra touch. We’ve stayed in the liver level bay side rooms and they are great! It is a nice Polynesian feel and we do enjoy the ambiance of the entire resort. Just wish the tower rooms were not to old and outdated for the price.

Stepping into the Lobby was awesome. Very tropical. The staff at check-in were very polite, as well as in the gift shop and at Java Lava. Those were the positives. However, we booked this “garden view” room a year ago to celebrate the 4th of July. For what we paid a night, we found the room to be under whelming. It was clean but very dated. Our “garden view” consisted of a balcony over a rooftop looking at the parking structure. Yes, there were palm trees to view but it was not what was claimed online. We also were in the Tower and would have rather been in the two story structure. The Housekeeper had no washcloths to offer. She said they didn’t have any. The toilets are very low- not good for elderly folks. The room has a mini-fridge but no microwave. Popcorn ceilings, no art on the wall and antique style furniture. The prices are outrageous for food and they include a service fee for the kitchen staff, Happy hour at Morays was decent. I would encourage anyone to go to the nearest store and buy food items if you don’t want to overpay for food. We attended the Luau and that was very nice and worth it for the money. We stayed 4 days and we would probably not return unless the prices were lower. It’s in a nice area of San Diego but there are other nice areas that are less money for the stay.

Nice place. Great for families. Comfortable bed

The grounds with all the cactus, plants & flowers are amazing! We really loved the massive Koi pond as well! Absolutely beautiful property!
-
Great amenities. Excellent location. Lots of planned resort activities!
-
Very noisy, parking at fifty a night is ridiculous

This has become our go to hotel when visited the San Diego area. Highly recommend!

Beautiful grounds! A tropical paradise!

Always our favorite!!

It was like a paradise all garden well maintained. Is like going to Hawaii in San Diego

Great place and 2 blocks to the beach

Resort rooms need updating. Not very clean. Had damp musty smell in the room.

The food at the pool what not great. Chips tasted store bought. Rice was over priced. Resort fee of $50 upon check in and lots of other fees every time you purchased anything at the resort. The restaurant food was delicious and the service was good too. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows were not I ordered breakfast. It was $21 but I paid $40 because of all the extra fees. It’s a racket with all the extra fees. I felt very nickel and dimed! The place does need to be updated

It is a family resort but some families were letting kids trash pool area and runarou.d property unsupervised so be aware of things like that. Although its an older resort the location and grounds were wonderful, bed was ok, restraint was amazing, drinks are pricey and front desk staff ok Concierge was a delight! I would stay again.

Great location, great landscaping and great pool. Fun activities in hotel every day. Only downside is hotel rooms and facilities are outdated and need upgrade.

Uncomfortable beds and pillows, smell of mildew in room, closet and balcony doors difficult to open. Housekeeping never left the number of towels and waters that equaled the number of guests. Our balcony view was of old clothes and plant debris that accumulated on the roof of the building’s entry way. The fish and the ducks were cute. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Our experience was 3/5 stars. We didn’t get much rest, which made our experience less enjoyable since that’s what we booked for. There seemed to have been maintenance going on at all hours with pounding and dragging on the roof. So maybe ask about that before booking. The staff was friendly, the place was clean. However, we booked a resort room with a king bed and amenities. We were giving a totally different room, which would have been find if they communicated the change. I noticed because it wasn’t a king size bed and the amenities were different. So with that, I felt like they were trying to get one over on me not just because I didn’t get what I specifically booked and paid for but mainly due to the lack of communication. It was only because I noticed and said something. I called and they did offer to move us and waive the resort fees, which I appreciated. We ended up staying where they left us because it was more of a hassle to move (by that time we already had all our stuff in the room.) Staff said they could discount or do anything about the room difference because we prepaid and booked through Expedia. Almost as if they don’t like it. We also didn’t get the VIP Expedia perks that were listed when we booked that we normally get when we stay at other hotels. Other than that the place was nice and again staff was friendly. It is clean!
