ITH Beach Bungalow Surf Hostel

The only good thing about this place was the location. Everything else was pretty bad. We had one of the private rooms. I don’t think anything was cleaned. The shower curtain liner was pink with mold. The shower drain did not drain. There was hair stuck on the shower wall. Mold on the shower wall. I used the hand towel in the bathroom and behind it, stuck to the wall, was a hygienic liner from a women’s swimsuit bottom.. if they had changed the towels they would’ve seen that.. This place grossed us out so badly we ended up staying somewhere else after the first night.

Location was awesome, right on the water and walking distance to lots of places. What’s even better is if you’re taking public transportation, the bus can drop you off a block away. My bed was a little hard and I didn’t have privacy curtains.

The room is too small and there is not much space to put the luggage.

The room was amazing. It had a great ocean, beach, and boardwalk view. The bed was SO comfortable. I tend to toss and turn a lot during the night. But the bed did not translate that movement to the other person in the queen bed.

The bathroom didn't seem clean. Moldy sinks and nasty tubs

Only 5 or so dedicated parking spots and street parking is rough.

Great stay! Front desk guy was a little eccentric but very down to earth. Excellent area, with pacific beach a few steps away or take a bike or walk to mission beach. Amazing stay!

Location, free hot breakfast and coffee. Clean room. Staff very helpful. I locked by keys in the car and they all came out and tried to help me. I had a private room with private bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. Would stay again. Some area a little worn down like bathroom.

The staff is great! Location is amazing! Doesn’t look like the pictures at all. Everything feels old and dirty, room was smelly. Quiet hours are supposed to start at 10, but one night there was loud music until 11 pm. There’s no age limit, and there were men in their late 40s and even 50s staying there. Nothing against older people, but one of them was being inappropriate with one of my male roommates, and another made uncomfortable comments toward me. That’s ultimately why I decided to leave a day early. The rest of the guests were very nice. From what I could tell, your target market seems to be younger travelers, so it might be worth considering an age limit to avoid situations like this in the future.

Met some wonderful people and the location is absolutely perfect! It couldn’t be better. It’s right next to the beach, with public transport within walking distance. The beds were very comfortable as well. The only downside for me was the bathrooms. The showers were quite poor, and the facilities overall felt worn and in need of maintenance. They could really benefit from some upgrades.

Nice staff. Horrible rooms. And the place was closed down by the City for health and safety issues so we were all kicked out.
