We had a great stay at Marina Motel and it will be our go-to for future trips to SFO. The place is wonderfully laid out, quiet and everything works. We had a unit with a kitchen which allowed us to have simple meals when not out at the best restaurants. We met Heidi, grand daughter of the founder and learned she is working with her daughter to make the 4th generation a reality. All was great with the room...clean and quiet...our two most important measures. The only thing I could think of to make the stay better would be an upgrade to the bed which was a bit soft. Perfect location and clearly a place to consider if you want to be close to everything but have a quiet place to stay.

What a charming and beautiful retreat in the city. We were not aware of the history of this place and were pleased to find out that it is still owned by the family of the founders. You can tell how much they love this place! Our room was ready for us with a garage parking spot below our room. The room was comfortable and clean and perfect for our family of 3 with our dog. Beds were cozy, and the kitchen was perfect. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Please be aware that the parking was made for cars in 1939, so our modern vehicles might struggle to fit into the garages. However, I noted the staff helping all cars fit into spots and the larger garages. As clearly stated, there is no air conditioning, but they do have fans and GREAT ventilation. The only thing I think might be needed is screens on the windows. There aren't many mosquitoes in SF, and no regular flies got into the room, but in case of the rare hot day in SF, some do make their way in. We were all very happy with our stay and would love to come back. I am so very glad we found this gem.

This is a hidden gem! Great location for walking to restaurants, shops, Palace of Fine Arts, Crissy Field Beach and much more. The hotel was very clean with a historic decor vibe. Each room has its own private garage. Our car battery died and we were so grateful to the helpful staff that loaned us battery cables for charging. Thank you so much for helping us and for providing a wonderful stay! We loved it!

This was an ideal place for us to stay in SF. We needed self contained kitchenette. It delivered in every regard. Room old worldly, great. Parking tick . Location really good. Comfortable oh yes. Staff very obliging and helpful. It really ticked all our boxes

Very authentic 1930s feel. Wonderful staff, very helpful. Parking was easy; I had my own garage. The kitchen was OK; the stove/oven was basic but certainly adequate—good supply of pots and pans, but only enough settings for two (i.e., 2 forks, 2 knives, and 2 spoons). However, heating was not adequate for chilly SF nights.

We chose Marina Motel because they had parking, good prices, and a good location (safe neighborhood with cafes, stores etc, easy access to the bus, and could walk to the Presidio). We had a great stay. The rooms are smaller and the property is older, but everything was clean and the staff was helpful. We were able to work early before check in and also left our luggage the next day to pick up before we left the city. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the King Suite. The room was spacious, a newer fridge, and Roku which meant we could watch our shows on Prime AND cable to watch the Giants game. Great staff. Very comfortable bed.

We found our little room and kitchenette to be cute and useful. Staff were friendly, the property was lovely, and the neighborhood was walkable with several restaurants nearby. The property has charm, it dates to 1939, and each room has a garage, but the age can create an issue as some of the garages will be tight. They do have larger garages, so if you have a large vehicle maybe contact them in advance, we had a midsize, and could only get out on one side. But overall the stay, staff and property are great. We would definitely stay again.
