Amazing breakfast and great staff

Angela was a great cook. She makes excellent breakfast and coffee. She is very courteous and friendly. Kudos to her! Check in was hostile and TERRIBLE The front door was locked and no amount of ringing the door bell, text messages, phone calls and emails could elicit even one response from Kathleen. Made me feel most unwelcome. Later I was discovered by chance that there was a note stuck on the front door meant for me. The note contained a secret code that I needed to punch in to get in. Was I entering a guest house or playing a Treasure Island game? After standing outside for over an hour in the cold I booked another hotel paying $107. And how would Kathleen be so unprofessional to not have the courtesy to respond to a guest? Would Kathleen pay me with $107 as compensation for the harassment I had to go through? And then my room was in the attic with no elevator. Was I expected to lug my baggage all the way up two flights of steep stairs? Very disappointing, overall. Not recommended.

Fabulously beautiful and quiet location. Lovely host, readily available. Amazing breakfast, lovingly prepared and served. Could not lock door to room. Lock improperly installed. May not be the case for all rooms.

It was cozy. They were polite. I loved the rooftop room.

Delicious breakfast

Check-in was easy. The home and its garden beds are lovingly maintained, and the location can’t be beat. The breakfasts were wonderful, and our hosts were friendly and gracious. The key to the room was not in the room door when we arrived, but we did receive it later. The mattress was too soft to be comfortable all night if you are used to a firm mattress. Also, it looked like repairs to the windows and ceiling were in process, with shutters being taped shut. And the wine glasses were a nice touch, but the dishwasher did not get them entirely clean.

The breakfast was terrific and beautifully served. The living room was very inviting. Reading lamps near the wonderfully comfortable chairs in the living room and a small table there for tea.

Beautiful rose garden, quiet location, and wonderful building. Lovely decorations for the holidays and great collection of teacups. Easy access to the building. The dogs. The old tired linens washed with scented detergent. Bed linens were poly/cotton. Some nails are poking out of the carpets. Pillows were FLAT. Breakfast was at 8AM - too early for these old people. Felt pushed out of the house because the "street sweeper" was arriving around 9 AM.

Very welcoming and clean and authentic

Such a perfect little spot in a great location. Excellent communication and accommodating for an early check in. So walkable and lovely neighborhood, was able to do the batteries to bridge hike from there, which was fantastic. Breakfast was fantastic!!
