Stanyan Park Hotel

Nice place. Have stayed here several times. The WiFi is truly atrocious. The worst I have experienced in a decade.

Wi Fi was weak in our room but strong in the lobby. Free breakfast was ok. Wine happy hour was fun.

Beautiful and charming. Rooms are comfortable, if small, and a great location. Now for the troubling parts - the continental breakfast is done somewhere else. I arrived on a Friday night and the next morning's breakfast ran out of coffee. When I asked at the front desk if there would be more, they responded 'we'd have to order it'. ?? The room temperature is managed outside of the room. First night was cold. The next four nights were too warm and the final two nights were cold. No in-between. The carpet in my room had stains. The cleaning crew were friendly. Some of the front desk people were cordial. For the amount they charge/night, I expected more.

Very close to Golden Gate park and UCSF Parnasus Hospital. Very convenient and affordable parking across the street at Kazar ($38 per day). Lots of restaurants on Haight Street and quiet at night. Enjoyed the old Victorian style with modern comforts. Very comfortable bed and pillows, clean bathroom with deep soaking tub. I especially enjoyed the old photos in the halls of SF rebuild after the great quake and fires. Cookies in afternoon and wine happy hour. Very nice hotel, will stay again. Breakfast was ok, typical continental breakfast. The pastries were good and individually wrapped so I liked that. Typical hotel eggs and thin greasy bacon. Yogurt, cereal, and coffee/tea. Apples and Bananas. I wish the windows had screens. I slept with windows open because I wanted the room to cool down and I got bit by a mosquito 7 times in my sleep. It probably takes away from astethetic of old Victorian but with no AC screens would be nice for opening it up.

Such a great, unique place to spend a long weekend in San Francisco. We appreciated the continental breakfast and coffee throughout the day, and the location was a perfect central location for our daily excursions. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel is well situated and there is a complementary breakfast and wine hour daily which comes in handy. Rooms are on the smaller side and and there is no coffee maker, cups, or fridge in the room...but they do have a hot & cold water dispenser with instant coffee in the lobby that one can make do with until the breakfast room is open. Bed was comfortable, the building itself is quite old and in need of an update.

Charming hotel in a perfect location for the wedding festivities that brought us to San Francisco. It reminded me of the small hotels we loved in Paris… So close to Golden Gate Park for great walking, too.

The wine reception in the evening was nice, but our room was so very small. There aren’t many hotels near the west side of the city which is what we needed so this hotel sufficed for the purpose.

Loved this so much! From the friendly welcoming staff to the beautiful park across the street this location was the best. Morning breakfast and a wine and cheese happy hour was a delight ! Felt like a warm hug , would love to visit again soon!

Cole Valley location is terrific! Parking lot across Stanyan from the hotel, entrance to Golden Gate Park, with tunnel to Robin Williams meadow across street as well. Nice breakfast. Great older hotel with character. Multiple restaurants within easy walks. You don't even need to visit Haight street which is a couple blocks away!

Great location. Nice happy hour with complementary beer and wine and snacks. Staff were friendly. All good.

Beautifully appointed rooms with the right mix of antique charm and modern amenities. Also, the Kezar Pub next door is a great place for food, drinks, and sports watching!

I was placed in a room with loud road traffic. I didnt sleep all night.

Exceptional

No air conditioning and we had an exceptionally warm day in SF - and the mattress was not firm and every time someone moved - the other person woke up. Very warm and need an updated mattress. Room 110
