Residence Inn by Marriott San Jose South

Perfect location for our needs. Unfortunately we didn't get to stay in a remodeled room and it needs the remodel! Hopefully they will all be remodeled on our next visit. The other problem was my mothers (86 yrs old) room didn't have a working coffee pot. We brought it to the attention of the front desk and she waited about 45 mins to take her shower thinking it was coming and when we called the front desk, they said it would be in the morning. Would have been nice if they would have confirmed that originally so she didn't sit waiting. The coffee pot never arrived. We were giving a parking credit which I appreciated.

Upon arrival, Edward made me feel right at home. Check in was fast and easy. I was supposed to travel with another person, but ended up traveling solo. I was able to downgrade my room to a studio without any issues. The wing I stayed in was newly renovated. Great job! Near restaurants, gas station, freeway, shopping etc. I would definitely recommend this motel. No comment.

The room and breakfast were great. However, the list of amenities included "parking available." It should have said "Parking $12/day plus tax." Surprise fees are not traveler friendly.

The location was convenient for the event I was attending. I remember the Residence Inn having pretty good food in the past. The food on this visit was garden variety microwaved, nothing to look forward to food. There appeared to be many homeless people staying in this hotel. Did not feel safe or comfortable. Although it was listed in the fine print, I was not aware of this hotel charging $12 per day to park. We weren’t staying at the Ritz Carlton. Was not happy to learn of the extra charge upon checkout.

The room was pleasant and comfortable and had what we needed. The staff was beyond helpful -- genuinely engaged and a real highlight. We appreciated our stay there.

There was a ton of construction we were not informed of. Lots of construction noise early and late. The carpets were filthy and need to go. And there was a rather large hair ball under the sink which leads me to believe me it has not been vacumed in a while.

We have been lucky to make return visit to this location. We have never failed to enjoy our visit and time checked in.

Facilities could use some sprucing up. Charging for parking in that area is unnecessary.

My room 124 bathroom smell like urine The property itself was nice. I didn't like that Maid service was done so late in the day.
