Nice room but NOT dog friendly. $150 pet fee. Very long walk from room to exit, fully carpeted throughout.

Room was nice and comfortable but that was about it . The Hotel itself was old and not well kept , a lot of construction going on the remodel but was was extremely noisy all day. No microwave in the room . And there was one tiny ice machine that seemed to never have enough ice

Beautiful and convenient location. We really liked our room, modern and comfortable.

Also just one elevator working

Marin Hilltop Hotel, formerly the Four Points San Rafael, is easily my favorite Marin hotel. First, as the name implies, it sits on a hilltop with a great view all around. Second, it is being renovated and the new rooms are really nicely redone. Third, it has a beautiful central courtyard with large pool (with hot tub) surrounded by palm trees. Kids love the pool. Fourth, the lobby and onsite bar & restaurant are good, too, though the breakfast buffet is overpriced. But try to get even-numbered rooms facing inward rather than odd-numbered rooms facing outward toward Highway 101.

No out door pool Staff

The pool was closed for remodel. I rented this room for the grandchildren to swim during the visit. I think there should have been an email informing of the property remodel. A lot of windows were also covered with paper for the construction. The experience did not warrant the cost of the room.

We were given a room that look directly out onto Hwy. 101, a major highway for the area. The room was not sound proof and the highway noise made for a night of little sleep. The hotel has over 100 rooms and there were very few guests the night we were there so there were other rooms available, and 3/4 of them did not directly face the highway. We are in our 80's so maybe they thought we wouldn't notice. We do take some responsibility for not immediately going back to the desk and asking for another room, but I do believe the person helping us could have mentioned it and given us a choice.

The hotel is under renovation and amenities have been disrupted: no Internet, no swimming pool. There were not enough guests to merit a full buffet and the menu offerings tasted terrible. The fan in the air conditioning system at night was so loud that it kept waking me up. Until their renovation is completed, I don’t recommend that anyone stay there.

They were renovating the hotel and it was loud construction work fro 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. There was dust all over the room. Even though we had a "newly renovated room - the smell of chemicals from the new carpet was bad. We have stayed at this hotel many times, but I am not going back.

The Staff were SO Nice to Me and Accommodated all of my requests! It was Quiet and I got the Rest I needed. I will Definitely come back!

We enjoyed the hot tub and the breakfast in the morning. The room and hotel were very clean. The overall vibe of the hotel was great!

Breakfast not happening. Resturant for dinner, marginal. Place is being remodeled. No ice avail for rooms. For the price, barely worth it. Newly redone room on first floor offered view of construction area. Elevators not working like they used to. However, Excellent location for tourists visiting with easy access to freeway and many great places to visit in Marin and Bay Area. Staff tried to do their best but check in person not great communicator.

The hotel was very clean the room was very very clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful

Very attractive property and very nice staff but definitely recommend you stay elsewhere. 1. One working elevator. 2. 1 ice machine for whole property. 3. Very loud rooms: either roaring air conditioner or roaring traffic, you decide. 4. Shower is a trickle. 5. Rooms are small. 6. $50 a day pet fee and no pet facilities at all. 7. Breakfast is far from free: buffet is $25 a head before tax and gratuity. 8. No coffee in room: plan on schlepping to lobby if you want any. In little cups. In short, long on looks and smiles and weak on everything else.

Of course the construction was loud right above me. I wanted to leave the room ASAP.. Nights were ok. The pillows were the worst.
