Clearly a small property that is doing well from the hard work being put into it by the family that runs it. I will be staying again!

The room was very clean including the microwave and frig, the bed was comfortable and the linens were good. Plenty of parking, quiet, secluded. Not a neighborhood for walking. Close to restaurants 6-minute drive. The owners live on the premises and take great of the quests. I travelled alone and felt safe.

The property was cozy, the reception was welcoming. The room was maintained well. The pastries they served were delicious!

We only stayed a quick overnight but it was clean and comfortable. The ceiling fan over the bed was a plus for us since we’re used to sleeping with a fan not air conditioning.

A very sweet little place to stay for a night or two. Really nice staff. Cute building tucked into the trees. Feels like the best old fashioned motel.

The room is clean and has had updates in the past few years. Staff is very helpful and the outdoor tables were a nice place to enjoy breakfast. We extended our stay and will certainly stay here again.

Marin Lodge is a pretty standard motel -- better than most, not as good as some. I'm not sure I understand all the folks who rated this property a 9.6, however, as it's nowhere near such a rating. There are several boutique 2-3 star properties in Marin that truly warrant a premium rating (and, to be fair, charge a much higher price); this isn't one of them. It's a standard motel, and I'd rate it probably 8.4. No real complaints, other than the giant spider in the shower (more like a mini-tarantula) and the constant speeding-traffic hum from the adjacent freeway (though you cannot see this thoroughfare due to trees, houses & a wall). If you're just looking for a low-cost convenient stay, I guess this fits the bill.

Clean, quite, and comfortable. Staff extremely helpful, courteous and pleasant. I very much appreciated the high quality mattress (the most important and most often overlooked item in a motel room).

I was a little apprehensive about this property when I booked it, but I was delightfully surprised when I arrived. The room was large, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and I liked that there was a granite countertop near the refrigerator and microwave. There were two chairs, one with an ottoman, and a closet with a couple of drawers, so it was very comfortable for our five day stay. There was a niche in the shower, which was very handy for putting shampoo, etc. The person at the front desk was very helpful, especially as we arrived late in the evening. There were muffins and croissants available every morning as well as a cold water to take each day. Even though the lodge is right near the street, there are trees that block the view of the street and some of the sound, and we enjoyed sitting at the outdoor table in the morning. The location was also very convenient. We would definitely stay again!
