Cedar Point's Castaway Bay

It was very relaxing honeymoon.

Hotel (rooms especially can use some updating). Staff was wonderful, plenty of activities to keep children occupied. Waterpark catered both to young kids and older as well.

Was very clear and nice food

The club castaway staff was awesome. We enjoyed the entertainment. The waterpark was clean and highly staffed. The design of the lobby and the theme throughout is exceptional, made us feel like we were at a tropical destination. When we did have a few issues they were taken care of almost immediately. The look of the hotel inside and outside is beautiful. Way too much whistle blowing going on in the park, we didn't know what was right, what was wrong, a staff approached our child about his water shoes but nobody told us anything any other time. The rooms did have a funky smell, walls and doors were dirty. The only other issue we had is not entirely the hotels fault but there were too many kids running amuck at all hours of the day and night unsupervised, yelling, running, banging on doors, we were woken up several times at night and early in the morning. Might need some security to control that. We got very little sleep. The bed didn't help with that, the bed was very uncomfortable.

Needs more attention

All in all we had a great time! Due to check in time and hrs of the water park..you would want to plan at least two days. Some of the waterpark attractions and slides weren’t open, due to short staffing. But eventually opened as more workers came in during the last three hours of the waterpark being open. The standard double bed rooms are small….they’re not super comfortable for an extended stay. I would recommend booking one of the suites. The castaway bay pier was covered in hundreds of spiders, which wasn’t a big deal for me or my husband! I love spiders. But for people who have the phobia…avoid the pier lol the lightning outside on the building was phenomenal. Very pretty! And the staff were great! The kiddos loved the mascots they got to hug and meet! The arcade was awesome! A gentleman there we spoke to was super sweet! Didn’t try the food though, but it smelled amazing. Easy check in and check out. The kids had a blast!

Kids loved all the activities from the waterpark, to the arcade. Ice cream shop was a favorite. We ran out of time to try bowling or put-put, but they looked fun Nobody told us we had to ask for room service. Trash overflowed, toilet paper ran out, and linens don't get replaced unless we asked for it. Could be why we saw extermination companies there.

I was on the 3rd floor. Kids were running through the hallways around 10:30pm. My son could not fall asleep due to this.

The room had bed bugs. At 300 + per night I would not have expected this. Cedar Point is to do a better job I have never experienced a hotel stay where my family is experience bed bugs.

Staff was friendly and helpful. If you plan to go to Cedar Point then a must as you receive early park passes since you are staying in one of their resorts. My only complaint would be cleanliness and upkeep on property. Not terrible but not ideal.

Exceptional

The location. Close to the amusement park and the mall and other shopping. Beds were comfortable and the bay view room was very pretty. 80 percent of the water park attractions were closed there was no warning about closures either. We got bored quickly with no rides only the hot tub,wave pool and the splash bucket tower was open.

The price.... I had stayed here before, and it was way better then. A lot of the water attractions were shut down. The lifeguards didnt seem to want to equally enforce rules. The beds were uncomfortable.

My family enjoyed the wave pool and slides.. my youngest had a blast for hia birthday! We didn't like how small the elevators were, no other complaints really!!

Good

For some reason, they also only provide one roll of toilet paper per room, which seems a little odd. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was excellent and very reasonably priced. Overall, it’s a great place for families looking for entertainment, but don’t expect much from the rooms themselves.

Was one of the best places my family has stayed at by far. Would highly recommend can't wait to stay here again next year and future years.

Carpet VERY DIRTY & has a horrible smell in the halls!!! Rooms nice size, but needs to be upgraded!!!
