La Posada de Santa Fe, A Tribute Portfolio Resort & Spa by Marriott

The hotel was very run down. The carpet in my room was dirty. Average hotel at best.

They used to have room service, which they no longer have. Limiting the hours any food is available. The staff was friendly and very helpful, but this was one of the key things we count on when my wife and I have a couple couples getaway a bit disappointing

We checked in with our Expedia reservation for a 4-night stay at La Posada de Santa Fe. We reserved a room with 2 Queen Beds and in fairness expected to pay higher rates due to Indian Market. However, the room we were given and the rate that was charged was a major disconnect and looked nothing like the photo's for this class of room on the site. The room, in no uncertain terms would be considered a DUMP!! The minute we opened the door we were hit with a strong mildew oder. We stepped in only to hear a running toilet, the very old and tired carpeting had an 8' long stain running the length, the windows were single pained and had been painted poorly too many times and came complete with dirty screens, the furniture was chipped and the room looked out onto the pool equipment. All this for an average 4-night rate, including tax and resort fees of $950. dollars per night. Needless to say we returned to the front desk and demanded a different room. The manager did his best to find us a room and we were moved to a better room close to the fountain, but it too was not without its problems. Mainly the plumbing from the bathroom was leaking into the bedroom and the entire desk floor area was sopping wet. Apparently this was an ongoing issue because the carpeting in the room was badly rippled. Overall I would say that the hotels common areas are lovely but the rooms need renovation. Sadly, I would not recommend nor would I stay at La Posada again.

Breakfast service is especially poor. Mismanaged, slow, poorly trained, and substandard for a very high price. The valet service is especially difficult and time consuming. Because there are two parking lots, and no communications between staff who leave to get a car and staff who remain near the lobby, it takes a very long time for cars to be brought up. When we checked out, we asked at the front desk for help with our baggage. Fifteen minutes later, a staff member brought us a folding luggage holder for our room. We explained we needed a rolling luggage cart. That never came, so we went to the valet area, rolled a cart to our room and managed our six pieces of luggage ourselves. One very fine feature was that the cleaning staff thoroughly clean your room and replace the sheets and towels while you are out, every day.

The staff was very, very good, especially the head housekeeper, Cesia, who made an awkward situation tenable. First off, they assigned us a suite in an upstairs room despite my mobility issues. When they offered another downstairs suite, it was awful-smelly and the floors warped. Again, not very good for disabilities. The manager did help us, but it was Cesia, who personally found us a plain room that worked with my disability, but we had wanted a suite. The rooms and the limited options. Also, for a disabled person, the parking was definitely a problem.

Free shuttle within 2 miles to and from hotel is a great service during our stay. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

We had an issue with our room and the manager, Miguel, was very helpful in assisting us with a new room which was much better. As we transferred rooms, housekeeping brought me my phone charger that I accidentally left in the previous room which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, at the pool bar and restaurant, the service was slow. The atmosphere on the property is a beautiful place to relax. The location is nearby the art galleries on Canyon Road and the Plaza. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Good location, but not great. For the price it should have been right at the square but it was about 10 minutes walk from there. We had no hot water our first morning. Had to delay the start of our day while we waited for the repair to be made. We were compensated for this with one day of free breakfast from a limited menu and two drink vouchers. The resort bumped up our total cost at checkout by increasing the resort fee from what we booked it at. Taxes and fees amounted to almost $100 over the base room rate.

A very Santa Fe style hotel. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Facilities including grounds, pool and hot tub were lovely. Particularly appreciated the well equipped gym and the quiet library. Restaurant provided excellent service and the staff in general was very helpful and friendly. Location is an easy walk to the square.

The location is very convenient , close to the plaza The rooms and the bathrooms needs renovation . The AC is very noisy and is just on the bed.

Properties were great, nice and scenic gardens and fountain TVs are in the wrong location ,

We absolutely loved the pet friendly room with the fireplace & front patio. Staff were above & beyond. Our daily morning breakfasts were my favorite start of each day. The food & service are excellent. We enjoyed the location, just a small walk or drive to town. The property is beautifully decorated with flowers in bloom every where you look.

Superb

Don’t book this place based on the photos. While yes it is pretty and overall 7/10. The photos make it look much much nicer. Pool. 4th of July weekend and they only had pool service for 3-4 hours. The pool is tiny. The food is ok but for 50-60/person it wasn’t that great. Room was comfortable but definitely older.

Beautiful grounds and location. Didn’t get the room as paid for and described. Was only there one night, so didn’t bring it to the hotel’s attention.

This is a magical property!!! Everyone acts like you are royalty to make sure your stay is wonderful!

the space was so packed it felt like i was not getting what i paid for and that left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be staying there again. The price is just not worth it.
