Lovely restored hotel. Staff was lovely, everything was spotlessly clean. The rooms are very, very small for the cost. The bathroom is so small the door won't open all the way. Also, as noted in a prior review, there is no sound deadening in this place. I was on the third floor and could hear the live band as if they were performing in my closet. Thankfully, they wrapped up by 10:30 pm so it didn't interrupt my sleep. But it did drown out the television.

We loved the location! We enjoyed friendly staff and a clean room! Also, the staff made sure to make our bed and give fresh towels to us the first day we were out of our room so we were set for the next day, that was great! Our small refrigerator in our room didn’t really work, not very cold at all. It was also very tiny not much room in it at all. The coffee in the lobby wasn’t hot, had to microwave it after I made it, would have loved flavor creamers for the price paying for hotel and not any continental breakfast.

I have stayed at Hot Sara before and enjoyed it. This time, however, we were placed in the "annex" section. The room was terrible - we nicknamed it "the dungeon". Little tiny windows, bare bulb overhead lighting, inadequate bulb-type bedside lighting. We had a suite and it was the least luxurious thing I have ever stayed in. The shelf under the bathroom sink fell to the floor every time you tried to take a towel of the shelf! Add to that the fact that a wedding party booked the ballroom bar so we could not use one of our favorite parts of Hot Sara and the whole weekend was just a disaster. To add insult to injury, we paid over $400 a night for sad, dingy accommodations. Hot Sara - we loved you before, we love you a lot less now. You really need to re-evaluate the annex section of the hotel, decorate the rooms more effectively and charge a lot less until you do!

What’s not to love about antique charm in beautiful condition? To have amenities such as this at a location to attend a World-Cup ski event is very much appreciated!

The restaurant food and service was good. Bed, linens, towels were nice and comfortable. Easy parking garage, no charge. Room was very small. My room was not serviced after the first night stay. I could hear people in the room below me talking and one person snoring VERY LOUDLY. There was a mix up on my invoice. I was charged two different amounts for each night. The second night was almost twice as much. An adjustment was made but it was not satisfactory. The room came with free breakfast but I was billed for two breakfasts. That was adjusted. There was not enough information given about the hotel and its services.

The room was very small. The bathroom was abnormally small and my husband had a hard time maneuvering in there.

Wonderful, friendly staff with lots of ideas for what to do in the area. Room was spotless with good bed and solid shower. Recommend the terrace for sunset and watching the lights come on in town. It's a short walk to shopping and a riverside brewery. The upstairs bar has creative cocktails and there's a historic great hall to settle in if it's too cool for the terrace. We added the breakfast included option and had 3 options on the menu. Pancakes are huge and filling! Get the fresh blueberries. Lots of history on pictures around property. Great gift shop. Parking garage with covered level and entry to hotel. So many outdoor activities to enjoy including access to the cycling rail trail. We saw many bikes. It's like Lake Placid without the parking nightmare.
