At first, we were given a dirty room in poor condition; a little later, we were moved to another room where the air conditioning wasn't working properly, making it very hot. We asked for fans because we didn't want to move again, but then the power went out in our room area for several hours; the A/C unit was running but not cooling at all. Honestly, it was one of my worst experiences. However, the staff was very attentive and provided excellent service, and they offered a discount to compensate for the inconvenience. I thought the public areas were excellent, though I do feel the bar and restaurant areas need better climate control, given that the Arizona heat is extreme at this time of year.

Check-in was a bit of an adventure. We reserved an upgraded room on a higher floor. When we went to check in we were initially given a regular room on the ground floor, but after showing the Front Desk person our reservation he then moved us to the proper room. When we arrived at the room, there was a crib as well as a fairly elaborate "Happy Birthday!' display with balloons, etc. Obviously this room had been prepared for another guest's arrival. A long trek back down to the lobby (hauling our luggage) and after speaking with another person at the Front Desk, to their credit they graciously upgraded us to a room superior to our initial reservation. The remainder of our short staycation was otherwise excellent, and we really enjoyed the property. But for some reason this situation keeps happening, same thing at several other times at other hotels. I am beginning to wonder if we shouldn't reserve the cheapest room, and then upgrade when we arrive at the hotel? Again, the staff and the location were otherwise wonderful, I could just do without the 90-minute check-in process.

The property is beautiful and we had a great stay. The sun is hot as expected for July in Phoenix but we still enjoyed our time. Only negatives were the pool towels, bed pillows, and mattress. The rooms and areas are well kept, all staff were kind and helpful. I’ve never woke up with back pain like I did and the pillows were not as I would expect for such a nice property. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We used the spa, the restaurant and spent the night in a lovely pool view room. Most everything was fabulous. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioner may not have kept up in the bedroom. It seemed a little warm, even though we turned it way down. Otherwise it was a fabulous stay!

Everything. It is always a wow and every annual event is a MUST enjoy. We went for July 4th and were floored by the hospitality and special staff experiences everywhere we went over a three day period. This is the best experience in the valley.
