Who’s all around the great experience it was cool how you could use the kayaks and fish on their lake

But to have no restaurant or bar open for my stay was terrible. I wanted to stay at the pool but had to go get lunch somewhere else. Monday and Tuesday no food no beverages in the summer by the pool. It was disappointing.

The biggest disappointment was the room. When I made my reservation, I believed I had booked a lake-view room. However, when I arrived, I was told that the hotel does not have rooms overlooking the lake. This felt misleading and should be made clearer when booking.

The McCormick Scottsdale is a great value for the price. It's clean, comfortable, and in a nice location with beautiful views. It's not an ultra-luxury resort, but it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. If you're looking for a pleasant hotel without spending a fortune, I'd definitely recommend it.

I would like to add a property assessment suggestion. The smoking area designated at the front of the property away from "guest's " but the 1st thing people pulling up to see amd smell. I am a smoker and felt uncomfortable having to face all new guest's checking in who might have a strong opinion about smoking at all. I suggest having benches, tables, chairs and definitely umbrellas at the concrete slab lake front at the bottom where guest who smoke amd vape have an environment that reflects the hotel without disturbing the non smokers and a covered area for the rest of us to do out thing. As adults we all kinda felt like the outcasts to our parties and even "sneaky " at time's. And area that is comfortable and umbrelled from the blazing heat where we can congregate with one another as the adults we are is more ideal. Not a good look rolling into check in and smokers being the 1st people they see. I love the McCormick, the location is the sell for me and the staff are all friendly and attentive. Room had a beautiful view with the lake. Nice pool area clean room and staff was friendly.

Hotel pool was dirty the 3 days I was there. (I’m not talking about just a little dirty. I could deal with that. The bottom was covered in debris, dirt, and leaves ) I chose this “resort” because of the beautiful looking pool and poolside bar for a relaxing few days. It wasn’t mentioned that the poolside bar is closed down and the restaurant inside is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I think this hotel was probably quite nice when it was first opened. Now it’s limping along on minimal staff and needing updates. The beds were the old spring types and not comfortable. The only positive thing I would say about this hotel was the price. It was cheap!
