Great Hotel!

Staff are great. Food was awesome. Overall the hotel was in great condition. Although when we checked in and until we checked out the pool was closed for maintenance so it did disappoint me slightly. The kids were specially sad as they were looking forward to the pool and it is one of the reasons why we chose this hotel mainly. We were told it was going to be open 8am on the following day and we held on to it. But then came the following day and it still wasn’t open. I hope they had scheduled pool maintenance on the less busy days, not on a weekend. But overall the stay was good.

I love an Embassy Suites for families. This one was a little miss. The toilet did not work upon arrival but they did get it fixed. The floors on the lobby near the restaurant were always sticky which is gross. The pool towels were terrible. The windows were dirty. We checked in with a party of 5 and there were 3 towels and 4 pillows. I would think if you’ve checked in with 5 for 3 nights, you would at least have 1 towel and 1 pillow per person. They did bring us more when requested. They ran out of Togo coffee cups at the breakfast buffet. Just little things that shouldn’t happen at a nice hotel. Staff were lovely. They had fences up all over the parking lot with no explanation if we could park in certain areas or not. It was a great location for all Monterey and even Carmel activities. Great for families. Just easy little fixes to make it better.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself was a major disappointment, especially considering we paid approximately $1,200 per night for a two-bedroom suite. The room was not clean when we arrived. The carpets were dirty, the floors were sticky, and the overall cleanliness was below what I would expect from an Embassy Suites. We are also a Hilton honers member and I think I need to start staying at the Marriot chains. Our first night, the air conditioning didn’t work, and our room stayed around 80 degrees. We had to sleep with the sliding door open because maintenance couldn’t come until the next morning. They were scheduled to arrive at 7:15 a.m. but didn’t arrive until about 7:45 a.m. While they worked on the AC, they also had to unclog the kitchen sink. Because of the delay and repairs, I missed breakfast and wasn’t able to get ready in privacy. The following day, after spending the day at the beach, we returned looking forward to showering before dinner, only to find the water had been shut off for several hours because of a water main break. Unfortunately, we ended up missing our dinner reservations as well. The coffee maker in our suite was also broken. We did not even call to exchange it. I was tired of dealing with the AI operator.

Great Breakfast! Gym is too small.

Great location with quick and easy access to Monterey by car Road noise, we were on level 2 and could hear the highway in the night.

It seemed like the happy hour snacks and drinks were not as good as remember in my 50 times staying at the Embassy Suites in LaJolla.

Carpet needs changing…

The restaurant and breakfast are very good! We loved having the separate living room area for family to come visit. They have fresh water in the lobby and a happy hour drink service at night which was great (but got busy very fast). The location is amazing. We were in town for the military graduation and it wasn't very far from that or from most of the water activities in Monterey. The room was clean and comfy. The Starbucks had limited options, the worker was always late, and very grumpy. Not necessarily the hotel's fault, but a stark contrast from the rest of the hotel's atmosphere. So if you want/need coffee - get it at the breakfast buffet instead.

Our stay was very pleasant. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Loved the cook to order breakfast and the afternoon snacks which were complimentary from the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
