Monterey Beach Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The view of the ocean from the lobby, restaurant, and bar is as stunning as the pictures show. The beach is wonderful. The food was great (we had breakfast in the restaurant and a light meal in the bar). Parking (which costs $50/day, but it says they charge a fee on the Expedia site) was fine. We enjoyed the hot tub (and the pool looked good). But we were disappointed in our room. If you want an ocean view, pay for the premier. The non-premier ocean view on the first (ground) floor, is obstructed by a row of couches surrounding fire pits. Not only are they very close to the room, between the room and the beach and the view, everyone at the fire pits can stare into your room,

The Monterey Beach Hotel was one of the best parts of my trip to California. Even with the hallway being in front of the room/window instead of behind, I still enjoyed sleeping with the window coverings open. Luckily our room was at the end of the row so no one should have been walking in front of my window unless it was my own party. The view and sound of the waves were breathtaking and intoxicating. Best sleep! Beautifully decorated and maintained. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff. Only negative was that there's no microwave in the room but overall a great experience.

I was disappointed with the first room we were placed right underneath the restaurant it was so noisy they moved us and that was better but then the hidden fees for parking was outrageous we had to pay $100

We had a great stay with the ocean right at our front door.

The room was very clean appreciate maintenance for tidying up our room when we were out!

Clean room and property. Staff at check in was thorough as a first time customer. We didn’t get to enjoy daily complimentary drinks/s'more's because of our baby :(

We had a blast! My children loved every minute of it. From the ease of access to the beach, to whale watching from our room, the spa, gym, lounge area, and fire pits, everything was wonderful. We can’t wait to visit again.

Would have given another star if Tidewater was advertised as now closed; also the pool was not heated; it was cold. Otherwise great long weekend stay; happy with staff, food, light bby bar, Lantern Room, Wellness Center the beachfront view and beach access. The fire pits and outdoor sesting were also great, and the Smores kit was a nice bonus.

A place to get away from it all and heal from the grind. Pool, Spa, sauna, cold plug ... repeat. Just before and after the walks on the beach,50 yards away from the water's edge

Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and available. Beach was easily accessible. Views were phenomenal, also otherwise but especially at sunset. The restaurant was great and served excellent breakfast and dinner. Our main purpose for the trip was to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was easily accessible with our car, parking easy. A very pleasant and great experience overall.

Location location location The rooms are very dated and don’t warrant the price you pay

We love the easy beach access, we can go to the beach anytime.
