Courtyard By Marriott Sand City Monterey

It is clean new hotel. I would come back next year. It is the best one in Monterey area.

I booked a suite and was dissapointed by the size of the room. It was too small. Also, the refridgerator was the smallest I have ever seen in any kind of room. Also, it never got cold enough.

Nice hotel and staff but for the money not really worth it. They don’t offer complimentary coffee. You have to pay for everything. The TV in my room didn’t work properly the screen was mixed up the whole time I was there and the staff was aware of this issue with multiple other people staying at the same time as I. Definitely will stay somewhere else. Wont be a repeat at this hotel.

We stayed for three nights at around $500 per night. The first night the hotel hosted a rap music party in the courtyard. It was very crowded with party guests, so we were not able to use the lobby bar or Bistro, lots of guests came for the party and they do not have a dedicated space for them. So the hotel guest are simply out of luck if they want a beer if a sandwich. Also the music was rattling the walls of our room until after 10:00 PM. The second night did not have a party, and the hotel was lovely. The third night, the hotel hosted another party. Again, so crowded we couldn’t get a bite to eat. So we left and got dinner, and then when we got back there was not any parking because of the party guests! The front desk did not care. She said we could wait in line for a cocktail at the bar. So my wife did, and it took 45 minutes to get her drink from the lobby bar. The rude bartender said that the party guest paid $250 to attend. Well I paid $500 for the night, but they do not care at all about the hotel guests. At least notify reservation holders in advance!! As a frequent traveler to the area, I probably will stay in Monterey moving forward.

I didn’t like that housekeeping never came by. We kept our room tidy, however, additional towels and toiletries would have come in handy.

It felt you are at home, friendly and helpful staff.

They told me we're going to have a tub and when we got there there was none. And then they gave us a room that couldn't lock the first know so anyone could walk in.

Everything the courtyard the balcony rooms. The garage door openers to the courtyard is everything by the side courtyard side residence.

This was a cute hotel. Having a balcony was my favorite part. Rates on the coast in the summer are high everywhere but this was cheaper than some because of its location in Sand City. It was easy to get everywhere I wanted to go in Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. The room was very nice and the bathroom was exceptional with two separate areas. The staff was very nice and let me check in early. There was a very nice outside area where there was even a group exercise class one night. My room had a view of the ocean.

Pool was a bit dirty but im not complaining it was still an amazing stay :)

While our room was clean, the only amenities were 2 paper cups. Not even paper towels. We had to get everything else downstairs. Also totally inconvenient that elevator located at opposite end of building from our room. The hot water spot not located in kitchen area. Refrigerator very hard to use. Microwave where garbage can should be. No garbage can in kitchen area.

No bay view rooms as advertised.

Room location was extremely loud. The kitchen was nearby. Staff making loud noises prior to 6am, music, laughing etc. the halls are tile not carpet so noise is a huge factor. Stayed 3 nights and no cleaning services provided, no fresh towels, garbages emptied, beds made, toilet paper replenished. Charged $15 parking per night but we parked on the street. Ate at the lobby restaurant one night, our server was great, food was so-so.

Our overall stay was great. The hotel clean and the staff was friendly. The location is good too. The beds were too soft.

It’s ok, clean but LOUD. The acoustics are TERRIBLE. Doors slam, creak, very loud. The staff is excellent however.

Look like new.

Need to put an additional blanket in each room, in case you want to be warm on the balcony.
