Sand Castle Inn

We were there for Monterey car week so the prices are too high for the quality of the hotel. The room was generally acceptable with the a few plumbing issues. The shower controls did not work very well nor was the water very hot. The really low point was when the toilet clogged, the manager gave me a plunger and said he would not fix the toilet. This is really an unacceptable experience at the rate of $400 plus a night, I will not return to this property.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We had a pleasant stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Sand Castle Inn was excellent. Clean and cozy rooms, affordably priced. They have EV chargers and laundry but i didnt use them this time. Would book again.

Well, a last-minute room was still available for Car Week. Of course, the rates were dramatically inflated. For the money, we at least had a place to rest. The room looked fairly clean, with lots of hard surfaces and new hardware in the bathroom. Noises surprised us through the night. The blinds di not block all of the light from security lamps by the front door. And at least one roach was there to greet us when we woke up the next morning.

Staff is very accommodating and reacted quickly if there was an issue with plumbing. It is the cutest two-star hotel that we've stayed at.

Clean large room, next to Costco and close to Monterey. Safe and friendly 😄

Room was very nice. Had a refrigerator, microwave, ironing board & iron. All the things I look for and also almost forgot a small coffee maker with good coffee to go with it. Bathroom was very large and modern, good water pressure. The king size bed very comfortable and extra pillows :) I highly recommend this place and definitely will come back next time we are in Monterey.

Very nice and clean.

Rooms were clean and bedding comfortable. The location was right next to a Costco which was convenient. Was also a few streets down from the beach. One thing I appreciated was the lighting around the property during the night. It was well lit and felt safe. Thank you for the great stay.

The Sand Castle Inn was very clean, looks to have been recently refurbished, the beach was a 10 minute walk, super close to Monterey and Carmel. This is the place to stay if you want to get to Point Lobos State Nature Reserve before they close the gate. Bring a sleep mask if you are sensitive to outdoor lighting. We will definitely stay here again!

This is a basic place to stay with no amenities and no place that you would want to walk to within walking distance. If you just want a place to sleep, and you don’t mind traffic noise, this place is inexpensive and fits the bill. The people were nice, and helpful, but the property is not awesome.

As a pregnant solo traveler, I felt safe enough to sleep alone at night which usually is a huge concern for me. The room was clean and it was fully loaded with amenities (mini refrigerator, microwave, TV that had YouTube and Netflix already downloaded). The key pad to the door was also not a typical key pad which felt more secure. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

Very clean property with parking included and great customer service , close to restaurants and to Monterrey Aquarium.
