Stayed at the Amsterdam Hotel for two nights to attend a friends engagement party. Our room was very clean and orderly. Patricio who works at the front desk warmly greeted us and explained all of the hotel amenities and also made really good recommendations about the best places to go for dinner. Overall our stay was great and I would not hesitate coming back here again in future.

Room was not the cleanest. Beds were very hard like sleeping on the floor.

Breakfast was lacking anything hot unless you put it in the toaster. No eggs or meat. Other than that was very happy with the property safety and the overall interior looked new. Rooms were dated and need more lighting. Definitely would stay again

Good

It was practical and easy to get to. There weren’t extra frills, but we didn’t need any. It was perfect for our needs: a basic comfortable reasonably priced place to stay for a night to break up our long drive. The staff (and other guests) were very kind and the area felt safe. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. We are sensitive to cleaning products, so our lungs were a little scratchy during our stay (this happens to us sometimes during hotel stays). In a perfect world all hotels would use non toxic/unscented cleaning products but the world isn’t there yet. At least it was obvious that things were being cleaned and cared for. Breakfast was very basic but we weren’t expecting anything fancy anyway. We keep kosher and the staff was able to help us find a few things we could eat; we really appreciated that.

Free parking in downtown Stamford. Very easy check in and out process. Older hotel, not updated, but lobby, hallways, elevator and room all very clean.

The Amsterdam is a very nice, no-frills option when you want to stay in the Stamford area. You won't find a better price. The property is dated, but it has what you need for a short stay, including a complimentary continental breakfast. Room was comfortable and quiet.

The breakfast is a bit sparse. However, the parking is plentiful and it does have a fitness room.

Very very outdated bedspread and blankets etc, bed and pillows were not comfy. The air conditioner was so loud I had such a hard time sleeping. Walls were kinda cracking. It just felt very old. The woman at the front desk though was the sweetest, friendliest woman. She was so lovely and helpful. I would give the front desk woman a 10 - I wish I knew her name. The hotel itself was fine for one night but it needs improvements
