Charming boutique hotel. We were upstairs in a small room. Suggest first floor room if you have mobility issues as there is no elevator and stairs are steep. Room well appointed if a bit tight, we travel with two small suitcases. Staff friendly. We stayed on a Monday night and missed the onsite dining as the Bistro was closed. Cute walkable neighborhood.

This place was perfect! I met Dave who told me how to find my room. It was clean and ready to go. The location is amazing, and all the staff were super friendly. It has everything you need for a great stay next to the Columbia Gorge!

Honestly, I didn't think it was possible for a hotel to get 100% ten-out-of-ten reviews all written by humans. But then we stayed there, and Stevenson Hotel deserves every one of them. It's just exceptional in ways you don't see much any more, down to the last detail. Even the toilet paper is superior quality! The brass fixtures in the room, the home-cooked breakfast, the comfortable mattresses and soft cotton sheets, the elegant bar and lounge, it's all top-notch for a competitive price. No gym/pool/business center etc., no corporate branding, just a small, traditional (but renovated), independent hotel in all the best ways. It feels like your "old money" friend invited you to stay.

What a cute hotel in a quiet old town. Perfect place to stay after hiking. Quiet rooms and comfortable bed. Restaurants and shops just a few steps away. Nothing negative to report.

The bistro breakfast in the morning was delicious. Their waffles are amazing!! The room was cozy and quiet. Very convenient location to everything in walking distance. Staff was very friendly. Nothing for us. But could see if someone doesnt like the sound of the train.

Room was very clean and housekeeping was quite communicative. The hotel is gorgeous inside and everything is in mint condition. The lobby area has free plates, forks, maps, and coffee! Very comfortable and warming place!! Property was a two minute walk to the river and the views were amazing!

Room was absolutely spot less. Sheets were very soft.

Great place to stay on the Columbia River Gorge. Only disappointment was cafe was closed for vacation. I would have loved to have breakfast with them.

Cordial and helpful staff.

The bistro was temporarily closed pending permit authorization. Fro breakfast a granola bar and coffee (good).

Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. I liked the fact that I didn't need to carry a key or card. We had a great view of the river and mountain.

Very clean and cozy, walkable distance to nice restaurants and breweries. If you’re visiting Dog Mountain the shuttle is just a 10 min walk.

As always, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. It was originally built by the railroad in the early 1900s to house railroad employees, and recently was very tastefully remodeled and updated. The staff are kind and helpful, the food is good, and they have a nice selection of beer and wine. They do have a single refrigerator for guests in the lobby, but it's small and if the hotel is busy it might be insufficient. I personally would like to see the same size refrigerator in each room, but it's not a detraction from the overall stay. Also, if you stay in Room 11, which was advertised as "river view," be aware that it's mostly a view of the street out front (from the second floor), with a small corner of the river if you peer out with you head close to the window. Rooms on the second floor numbered 9 and below are the actual river view rooms. Room 11 is still a very nice room, but I feel the view is not quite as advertised. If you're a train buff and want to stay in the hotel for a view of the constant parade of trains going by, 11 would not be a good room for that.
