Comfort Inn Summerville - Charleston

I ended up not staying here - the rooms were very dirty. - When I complained at front desk the Woman working that night explained to me that the hotel is typically used by construction workers and and truckers working in the area and they are a 1 star hotel. I asked to see another room and it was just as bad. She was more than willing to refund me my money and suggest other hotels in the area. The woman, Delsea, was very helpful and understanding of our situation but unfortunately she works at a bad hotel.

So I’m a pretty tough critic and I don’t hand out five stars very often. I’m also not one for staying at comfort Inn because of their reputation for not being clean. I took a chance on this one in Somerville hoping that it would be better. While it was surprisingly well, I didn’t give it a five star only because of the smell that I encountered on the floor in which I was staying as it had an aroma of marijuana. The rooms were clean. The amenities were good. The beds were mediocre in terms of comfort. Most of these comfort Inns are dated. This one was as well, but it was kept up pretty well perhaps someday with face lifts and a little more attention to detail they’ll earn the five stars.

I did have an issue upon arrival, but the staff solved it quickly and efficiently. I will definitely stay there for my next trip to Summerville.

It is was great rooms with great staff. It would’ve been five stars, but the air conditioner was leaking so the room was quite musty. Sure they will get it fixed although.

Continental breakfast was excellent. Staff was very nice and helpful.

I enjoyed the location of the hotel and the pool for my children. The hotel was located by different stores in walking distance which saved money on car service The room smelled bad. There was a roach in my room when I first arrived. The smell was bad in my room, not sure if it was the AC or what it was. The tub was a bit dirty.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness issues didn't stop there. I found a roach in the wardrobe, and even woke up to one crawling on me. There were also ants crawling down the walls throughout our stay. To the hotel's credit, they offered to refund the cost of our second night, but I am still waiting to see if that refund is actually processed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and pest free. Their are a lot of construction workers which may be concerning for single women travelers.

They have free breakfast and a good location. Roaches No room ventilation Damp, moldy room

Friendly staff but rooms need some serious renovations. New carpet and a deep cleaning would be a great start. There was mold in the bathroom.
