Motel 6 Tacoma, WA - South

Could use some blackout curtains in the room, and the door has no seal in the hallway. You could see light all the way around it in a big gap on the bottom. It was just OK. Neighborhood is not the greatest.

I was told both of us needed our ID to check in, I had mine already out on arrival, I am the driver and who the room reservation was under. She then demanded my partners saying if he doesn’t have his we can’t stay. My partner doesn’t drive… luckily he had an old expired ID on him and she moved on. Next she then told me I needed to pay a deposit (first time I have been to a motel with a deposit & no mention during the reservation) I said ok, but all I have is Apple Pay, “We don’t take that and no exceptions” I didn’t have enough cash on me and she was very nasty, thankfully my partner found some extra cash in the car where we occasionally keep some. So I go in to give it to her. She’s even more nasty, tells me if I lose the paper she’s giving me I can’t get the $ back. Ok.. then she hands me it and a key card, doesn’t tell me the room. I ask what the room number is and where the room is and she says figure it out yourself. Another person checking in and asked the same and they showed him on the map. I no longer felt safe staying there due to hostility & told them that, they said do you want to leave? I said yes. I asked for proof of refund and she said she wouldn’t provide me with that. I left with no place to stay, crying.

The room we were given, smelled like smoke bad. we found ants in the room got our room changed without a problem.

Trashy hotel but the front desk personnel were nice and professional.

The fact that they took money out of my account even though I didn't get to stay there.Because I didn't have my reservation.

My parents room at the same place was nice and clean. My was fairly clean but found a few beetles inside the room. Room smelled musty. Staff I believe her name was Sing was not super friendly. I asked her about the outdoor pool that was pictured on the Expedia website and she ignored me twice then finally told me after I asked again that it had been down for 4 years and the new owners were working on things. The next morning when my daughter went to shower the water wasn't working. When I asked the desk staff(different woman) she said the water was turned off because they were working on the pipes. Would have been nice for them to communicate that to us especially if it had been planned. Im not sure if it was or not. I wish the picture of the outdoor pool would have been removed off of the description if it hasn't been working for years. The pool was one of the big reasons we picked it.

Overall the property is showing great improvement

Stole $113 from me! Made me pay twice for same day stay, saying i would get refunded my $113 but never did! It's been over a month and they wont give me my money back!!!

Its quite run down . Very sketchy people hanging out at the parking lot
