This property treated my husband and me terribly in the midst of a family emergency. Our daughter (who is 11) was at camp in Jemez Springs and my husband and I decided to take a trip to Taos while she was at camp. One night into our three night stay, our daughter had to be evacuated from her camp due to wildfires. It was absolutely terrifying. I tried to quickly explain to staff what had happened and they told me that they would not cancel our remaining reservation and our daughter would also not be allowed to stay at the property if we returned with her. (The property is adults only). I am still in shock that this property would treat people so badly who were trying to evacuate their daughter from a wildfire. Also, the room we were staying in was in poor repair and very dark and gloomy. I was not happy with the property before we needed to check out, but would have been a good sport and not left a poor review of the property. Please do not stay at this property.

Great location. Loved the courtyard. Rooms are huge!

The room could use a coffee maker/hot water/tea machine and more than two water glasses

Wonderful stay. The place has been around for 90 years so, it is rustic in some ways.. The room was cozy comfy. Enjoyed the cool, fresh air when the windows were open at night. Evaporative cooler was nice too, when needed. Overall a very Zen place to stay.

Amazing property with beautiful rooms. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Our room was upgraded without asking.
-
The bathroom was a little out dated and the air-conditioning was loud but the location, food, and staff was excellent.

A beautiful historic place. Shower tucked. Could not use t.v. without all my personal log in info which I did not have.

Easy parking and access to rooms. Perfect spot to stay in town and walk to great shopping and restaurants. Our room was cool and very comfortable. The bathroom was very large and had everything we needed. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back to the Taos Inn!

The location can’t be beat, especially since so many hotels downtown have closed. There’s parking as well. The hotel is perfect if you’re going to a concert or something at the park. It’s cute and the grounds are well maintained. Free music at night was nice for sitting on the patio and having dinner and a few drinks. The room overall was clean but there was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The biggest issue was the air conditioner. There were multiple thermostats in the room and a remote with symbols but it wasn’t clear what went with what or how to use things. I think one thermostat was for a fan that didn’t work? We ended up having to Google the air conditioner. But they also weren’t installed correctly which means we woke up in the middle of the night to water literally pouring out of it. There wasn’t much to do to avoid the dripping if we wanted air so we just put the dirty towel under it. The next night there was water all over the front entry area, going towards the carpeted area which is probably why the room is very musty. We did let the front desk staff know and they basically said they were aware and should probably tell guests and blamed it on poor install.

More importantly, our reception at the hotel was lukewarm; my call to the front desk to request help with the TV went unanswered; and, on my subsequent trip to the front desk, I was told that they didn't know how to work the new TV system. As for amenities, rooms in a hot environment like Taos could really use a fridge and ours did not have one. All this said, there is a real historic charm to the property, as well as the restaurant and bar on site. Over the weekend, with live music in the lobby/bar, people were having a great time. We'll do some checking ahead before staying here again, but would certainly consider a future stay.

What a lovely oasis in the center of Taos--a sanctuary for the soul. The staff are wonderful, both within the hotel and the restaurants/bar, and the entire feeling is always sublime. I come here every year to rest, relax, eat outstanding food, and find myself again. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and its staff, and the nightly music is a lovely bonus. Thank you for being you for 90 solid years, Taos Inn.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown. Restaurants and shopping were all within a short walk. Front desk staff as very good and offered great suggestions for dining, etc.
