Reviews

Original from the eighteen twenties.
-
Furthermore, there was loud noise in the street late at night. Like extremely loud noise coming from vehicles.

Clean, great room, well furnished with a great bed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee in room, no breakfast but plenty of options with in walking distance. Secure parking.

The hotel was not up to the standards that the prices would indicate. In the room: carpet was worn; doors were not hung straight; view out the window displayed the lower level A/C units; lobby ice machine was always empty. WIFI worked in the lobby but as the hotel was made from adobe the walls didn't allow for continuation of service. Would not stay again.

Beautiful old hotel, reasonable rates ad a first class staff.

It was a lovely location on the plaza. The bedding could be improved. The room we was like a suite and had Murphy bed which would be convenient for four people. Great coffee shop downstairs.

We loved our stay at Hotel La Fonda! Such a cute and quaint place. Room was so cute. Over 200 year old building. Very cool to stay there. The staff was so helpful and gave a great suggestion for dinner! A local cantina with great food and drinks. Later the cantina had an open mic and the talent was great!! So enjoyable. Thank you!!

While my stay was great, the room location was less than desirable. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the TV I could not control or connect to cable source. The furnishings were old and the lamp light bulb went on and off on its own.

It is a very old Hotel that needs constant updating. However, We loved the character and uniqueness of it and great location. Staff was excellent and they have a unique Art collection by DH Williamson, set aside for your review upon request. I recommend this unique and fun Hotel when in the area and want to stay on the plaza in Taos. I stay at this Hotel again.

AC worked great plus a ceiling fan!

Everything was perfect. Thank you

It was historical. Old School type. Our room was definitely different. Bedroom nice with nice bed. Tv in bedroom did not work. Sitting area when relaxing left much to be desired. One old chair and bistro iron table and chairs. Overhead light had 1 bulb instead of 3. Bathroom has pedestal sink and no place to set anything. It was quiet and we did have a nice sleep. Good parking in back.

A very interesting historic hotel. We are glad we stayed.

I love the La Fonda Hotel in Taos. This hotel is the best location period. Ask for a room overlooking the Plaza and sleep with your curtains open for some intriguing light and shadow effects. Ask to view the Forbidden Art by D. H. Lawrence for a really special treat. Tell Sheldon that Les said Hi! Sheldon runs the hotel and does an excellent job. I will be back! Again and again.

Every detail thought of. Night lights, extra fans super nice facilities. Will definitely return. Showers were nice and hot. Convenient in central location.. close to everything.

Desk staff friendly and efficient.

The staff at the front desk was outstanding helping me navigate where to park to unload and then where to park for the night. We got an excellent restaurant recommendation at the Azteca Mexican Grill. The room was very clean and the bed was just right, slightly firm and comfortable. We ended up on the second floor in a "common" area and ended up chatting with a couple and their three kids from Arizona. I don't normally do this but can't help to not recommend this hotel. Book it, you won't regret it.

Clean and comfortable for an old hotel in a convenient location.
-
excellent location, right on the plaza and close to shops and restaurants
-
Nice location in Taos square but several homeless in front and behind hotel where you enter hotel from parking lot,Security non-existent in hotel.
