Sonesta Select Tempe Downtown

Great place to stay! Walking distance to downtown so super convenient.

Staff were helpful. I did not have timeframes to use the meal service. Asked for a quiet room and I got put past about 40 or more rooms at end of corridor. Almost too far with heavy suitcases but I am younger. If an older person had to walk that far they would be disappointed in room distance from any elevator. Thank you

Superb

Initial room’s bathroom was a disaster. Looked like DIY handyman work had been done shoddily. Plumber’s tape and poor installation in addition to water damage and mildew was prevalent. Shower pressure was low and erratic. Had to request room change to solve it — second room was better.

The air conditioning was not working properly.

I never stayed there because I didn't have my $100 deposit so they also never gave me a refund after telling me I was going to get my refund

Wife and I were there for work.

Update to last stay. On top of the breakfast “confusion”, I specifically called the day after check out to let them know not to charge my card as I saw a pending charge, and charge the card my daughter put on file. They disregarded my request and still charged my card. Thanks for the nail in the coffin. I will most definitely not recommend your hotel or book there, period.

Property was good however, when it was time to get breakfast, one of my daughter’s friends was denied breakfast. They said you already had one which was not true as she was the last one up and it was not even 8 am yet! My daughter and her friends had been very respectful of the property and caused no issues as I had checked in on them often, from the time they checked in to the time they left. Not sure what the problem was but only gave me the assumption that we will not use Sonesta moving forward. They also had interaction with a lobby attendant as they returned from a night at the Marquee for a dance party, stating that they needed a parent on property. Absurd! My daughter is not 21 but is college age and was with 2 others that are 20, only to be treated poorly the next morning. We rent rooms for our girl to have a girls night out with her friends often as our daughter works and pays her own way for that privilege. If I thought for a minute that my daughter could not be trusted on her own in a hotel we would never put her or anyone else’s peace at risk. Very disrespectful in my eyes and we will not choose Sonesta in the future.

The front desk staff was excellent very helpful and knowledgeable. Great personality.
