Candlewood Suites Hotel Texas City by IHG

There was a slight mildewy smell in our room which we brushed off. Later in the evening there begun a small drip from a device or vent in the ceiling. It was slight (a few drops every few minutes) and we put a measuring cup from the kitchenette under it. We meant to mention it to the staff on our way out but we were distracted as we headed off to a cruise. The combination of the mildewy smell and the small drip led us to believe this was a known problem that had not been addressed. The coffee dispenser/brewer was very good as far as quality...but it took an awful long time to brew each cup. This meant that several of us were queuing in a rather small room.

Front desk staff was very friendly. The room was musky and musty. Shower had low water pressure. Water didnt get very hot.

This is a decent hotel but the exterior is so offputting that it taints the impression of the hotel overall. The interior is simple, but nice. Also, the air freshener used in the foyer and hallways is so strong that someone with sensitivities/allergies could not stay there.

Absolutely loved the stay here. The front desk young lady was very sweet and helpful. I don't want to get her name wrong, but I think her name was Denny(?). The check in was quick and easy. The room was marvelous. Bed was soft and comfy. Will definitely stay again next visit.

I absolutely loved the amenities and politeness of the staff. Esp. Mr. Patel. I had rested there for 3 days and it was comfortable, quiet and peaceful.

Management staff was outstanding! Helpful , friendly. Planning to return and stay again in the future. 👍

Absolutely nothing I didn’t even get to stay at this property because the manager of this property was very rude to me and then lied to her general manager about the nature of our conversation, and when I went to tell the general manager about how rude she was to me. He decided to cancel my entire booking instead of correcting his employee. I liked absolutely nothing about the property in Texas City. They were rude and disrespectful. The manager came out, dressed like a slob and was rude multiple times and we didn’t even get to actually stay at this property because the staff was so rude.
