Motel 6 Portland, OR - Tigard West

The staff at the front desk the day of checking in was great Dirty, smelled of human and cat urine, people living there, noisy, the pool was dirty, the tv in our room did not worked so we were moved to another room in which everything was smaller; bathroom, fridge, microwave and tv. Also, we were moved to another room that belonged to somebody else-the guy had left to eat and came back with his bags to find out we were now assigned that room. We had issues with our keys being undone.

Really clean & comfortable for a Motel 6. 3rd floor room with no elevator... Staff was great & plenty of parking & easy access to Hwy 5. Fairly good restaurants close by.

Disappointing

I saw a family of ants crawling in the bathtub. And when i first turned on the bathtub water, it was yellow. However, the staff was very nice and helpful.

However, the property needs a lot of work. The pool was dirty and needs better maintenance, the showers were in poor condition, and the bathrooms were extremely small. The refrigerator in the room also did not get very cold. Housekeeping was only available on Tuesdays, which was disappointing. The walk-in rates are also expensive, but I found much better prices through Hotels.com. The vending machines charge around $4 per item and do not offer refunds. I also had one very rude encounter with a staff member whose name starts with “V.” Several other guests had similar complaints. Overall, the motel has potential, but it definitely needs renovations, better maintenance, and improved customer service.

It was right off the freeway. The room and hallways we were placed in smelled like someone has been chain smoking cigarettes near that room. We woke up coughing it was hard to breathe (and no it was not the smoke outside it was 1000 times easier to breathe in the wildfire smoke!) the mattresses were two inch thick and it felt like it was just springs no padding. We will never stay again no matter the value.

The staff was very nice however the room had stains all over the white walls in the bathroom. Molding was pulling apart in the bathroom. We had to ask for a shower curtain as there wasn’t one. Wi-Fi was terrible and entry from the side smelled strongly of urine
