Garner Hotel Totowa by IHG

Room was clean, staff was friendly, parking was confusing at first, but staff helped. Hallways were hot so i frequently rushed to my room for AC. Requested extra blankets for my room and did not get it. Breakfast was terrible. Food was cold, juice was water, vet limited options. Went to Wawa instead.

I originally booked to stay at this hotel for 5 nights and I had to leave after the first night. The place had a very weird smell, the breakfast was horrible and there was no microwave in the room. I was traveling with 2 kids and there was no microwave in the room to warm their food. I would NEVER recommend this hotel. At one point the elevator had a terrible smell, my daughter almost threw up. Very disappointed ☹️

I thought the hotel was a good value for the price. The room was newer and spacious. The property was generally clean. My issue related to the breakfast area. The ceiling was dripping into two different buckets near the food setup. I'm not sure the health department would approve. Also, there was a swarm of fruit flies near the toppings (salsa, shredded cheese) for the scrambled eggs. The fruit looked marginal. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day since my stay was only one night.

Location was perfect, very close to the event center we attended.

The noise from the highway was constant. You could hear the cars tires bumping and thumping all night. This hotel is too close to the highway. The noise from the next room was very loud. Walls are thin. The air conditioner did not work properly. It was outdated. The front desk was not accommodating. I don’t recommend staying here.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the property was. Yes, it is old and dated, but I thought it was an excellent value. Breakfast buffet was nice and staffs were friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

Clean room and very comfortable

Very disappointed. Needed an iron and there wasn't one in the room. We had the ironing board but no iron. I had to ask front desk 4 times for one over the course of 3 hours. I tried calling front desk from room but kept getting a busy signal so each time I had to go down to the front desk.

I didn’t like my room was next to the highway and it was loud and the window AC made lots of noise so I couldn’t sleep that well. Maybe earplugs if that works for someone but not for me.

Not safe parking. Hotel rooms not well maintained. It unpleasant experience. Staff were good though.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, parking was convenient.

Room was fairly clean. Bathroom was not. Urine around the bottom of toilet. Musty smell in hotel.

They had a parking lot outside and in the garage. I started to park in the garage but felt uncomfortable as there were not a lot of cars parked there. I noticed a few cars had not been moved in a while and there were some piles of trash near the entrance. I ended up parking in the outside lot where I felt more safer.

Stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping never cleaned our room. We booked two rooms and one of our rooms always kept getting skipped. We let the staff at front desk know and their solution was to tell me they would let housekeeping know and that someone would stop by the next day and they never did. I had to constantly go downstairs to get clean towels and toilet paper and they never had the big towels only the small ones. Very frustrating with the lack of care that the staff showed.

This hotel has a lot of potential if they invest more.

The room itself was clean, but there were other issues. The toilet was broken. We told the front desk when we went out for the day and it was still broken when we returned later that night. The staff at the front desk said we could use the lobby bathroom. I requested to switch rooms and he did help with that. But it seemed as though he would have never thought of that on his own if I hadn't suggested it. He was nice and did help us and then it was fine. The same situation happened with my friend who was in another room with the air conditioning. Also, the elevators are slow and a few times only one was working. They seem to need to work on the maintenance of the rooms and better train the staff.

The breakfast was not good. There were some parts of the facility that were not clean. It is an ok place to stay in the area with different things to do.
