DeSoto Beach Gardens

The bed was good, the kitchen was all we needed and the living area was ok. It just needs a good, thorough cleaning and paint touch up to make it better.

The Bed &Breakfast suite could have been cleaner. The floors were not cleaned well. And the kitchen counter Island had sand on it. We understand we are at the beach, but finding a thin layer of sand on the kitchen counter isn't good at all.....

Everything awesome place to stay

When booking a DeSoto property, I had a choice of a hotel-style room, a room with a terrace, or a garden room. I chose the garden room because it was described as having a patio, and the pictures showed a beautiful garden setting. Our "garden patio" was 4 mismatched, cheap old furniture pieces, and the garden was a couple of vines, and all of this faced the parking lot and busy street out front. The pictures were definitely deceiving. The bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. The staff took care to ensure we had plenty of towels, and I liked that they provided laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The kitchen had a coffee maker with paper cups and no coffee, and the silverware had just 2 of each utensil. Ceiling fan in bedroom was covered in dust, and clock in the living room was not working. I will likely not select this property inthe future.

A very short walk to the beach, fun area with plenty of restaurants and shops near by. It did feel like they were slightly understaffed, but all in all it was a fun stay and we would likely go again. 4/5.

Room was in need of maintenance holes in wall, mirrors with hand prints, couch looked like flea market rejects, water pressure terrible and slow to heat, window held up by bars, upstairs noise came into my unit, broom had climbs of black hair in it. While it was close to ocean there was no view. Dead flies in window sill and broken shade on door.

I had a wonderful stay at the DeSoto Beach Gardens. The unit itself was absolutely lovely—full of charm, comfortable touches, and thoughtful amenities. I especially appreciated having a fridge and microwave, which made the stay feel even more convenient and homey. The location is another standout. The walk to the beach was quick and easy, and it added a truly enchanting element to the entire trip. Being able to stroll over to the shoreline in just minutes made the experience feel peaceful and effortless. The staff deserves special recognition as well. Check‑in was smooth, friendly, and welcoming, and every interaction throughout my stay reflected genuine care and professionalism. I would absolutely recommend DeSoto Beach Gardens—especially the Gardens room—to anyone looking for a charming, relaxing, and well‑cared‑for place to stay near the beach. I’m already looking forward to returning. Nothing to complain about

Cute little one bedroom. Check in person was very curt. The maintenance person was more helpful to us.

Clean and friendly

I liked that the property was right on the beach and had free parking. The one bedroom suite that we booked had been, for the most part updated. The part that we didn’t like was the sofa was extremely dirty and smelled bad which in turn made the whole unit smell. Also, the carpet in the bedroom desperately needed replacing and I’m sure it contributed to the smell as well. Another thing we didn’t like was that there were no windows in the bedroom and the living room had only two hexagonal porthole style windows with translucent panes that let in very little light. It’s not worth the price due to its limitations - no functional windows and dirty, smelly, furniture and carpet. My husband and I spent one night in it since we got in late and were very tired from traveling. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk, we were immediately moved to a different room with a balcony and a view of the ocean which salvaged our stay as we were there celebrating our anniversary. These are photos from our upgraded room.

Said bead and breakfast but offered frozen foods. The staff was most excellent room was great. Nice access to beach. Will be staying again!!

Would'nt stay there again. The staff there seems confused on the Hotel's policies. The AD for the Hotel stated free Continental Breakfast, but the staff said it was'nt allowed for those who stayed at the Desoto Beach Garden part of the Hotel. Also, one of the 2 TV's in the room did not get the same channels as the other TV in the room. They were not premium channels - just basic cable channels. I reported it and the staff said the blocked channels were not a purchased part of their cable (but the other TV in the room had the channel fine??) The blocked channel was Fox News. lame.

Close to beach, clean, well appointed. Staff friendly Prominent musty smell. Staff said nothing could be done about the smelll. Sofa needs to be replaced.
