This hotel is dated but remains lovely. Beautifully maintained pool, lots of flowers. Be forewarned however, the extra price for resort fee is questionable at best. Three times I was told I could not get a ride because they were too busy. I had to request housecleaning one day more than 3 times, even though I was supposed to automatically receive this every day. I had to ask for coffee in the room twice because it wasn't replaced. The staff were very nice, and I have no complaints with them. The valet service, however, and the housecleaning service, not so much. You pay an extra $60 per day for parking your car there, and another "resort fee" for amenities - not sure what those really are when you can't get a ride to Lionshead, no coffee in the room. There was also an extremely loud air conditioning unit sticking out from the window which ran intermittently during the night (no more than 8 seconds at a time), on and off, on and off.

Good convinient location next to vail village. Parking was a little overrated

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

No AC - had weird cheap free standing unit in room with plastic window pane that did not work well. No phone in the room so had to call front desk from my cell phone for the valet which was $50 a day and no self parking. Electrical outlets by the bed didn’t work. Expired granola bars in mini bar. Spa broken. Pool heater broken. Maid service every other day but didn’t replenish waters despite free and supposed to. Soda stream tasted like medicine. Pool bar only open on weekends. Location is amazing. But new lodge towers look directly into rooms so no privacy. Pool area full of broken kids toys. Lots of construction trucks, workers and noise.

The swimming pool was so cold you couldn’t even get in it. Half the time one of the hot tubs was closed. No air conditioning. Curtains in room were falling off. I’ve been going to Vail since the 60s and this property has really deteriorated. So sorry.

Amazing location, atmosphere, food. The best location on the mountain.

    Great location and amenities!

Great location! We stayed in the little rooms by the pool and had easy access to Vail Village. The pool was only 75 degrees though. Too cold to really sit in and enjoy.

Fabulous location & great staff. We loved it.

This hotel is in need of renovation. The general hotel room conditions are poor. The portable air conditioning units helped with cooling but are very ugly and in the way, in addition to being loud.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Very tired. Needed paint, gardens were not maintained well, no house cleaning options. AC was a window unit that solid not fit the window

We also needed to carry our luggage down and up 15 steps as our room had no elevator access. We also visited the pool and it was difficult to get a seat due to all the used towels and empty drinks on chairs and tables. The staff was friendly but they were all young adults at the desk. Plenty of alternative hotels to stay!

Excellent location in the heart of Vail Village. Valet parking required and worth it for $50/ night Overall stay excellent.

The rooms and beds were really nice. The location is excellent, very close to Vail Village with great restaurants and shops. I personally like good coffee and that would be a great addition at this hotel, but overall, a good stay.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and have always enjoyed it. This year, they had a new AC unit in the room and it didn't work well and was incredibly loud. They also began pool construction every morning at 7am without letting us know that in advance of our stay. The breakfast place (Cucina) is great and has a really good staff, although highly priced. The gym and spa work well, they could be higher quality given the price, but they are still good and helpful to have during the stay. The location is great.

Very nice property. Great staff, great location.

I think the rooms should be cleaned everyday. And, the restaurants really need to be updated.

The Lodge at Vail is in a great location right in Vail Village. The property is older and showing its age. They do not service the rooms with daily cleaning. I personally find issue with this for a property of this level/price. The service is average. I have stayed at many properties in Vail over the years. This would not be high on my list for future visits.

    Everything

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Location great, comfortable bed, nice little balcony. Parts of the room were literally held together with duct tape. Air conditioner was big, noisy, ugly portable unit with a hose out the window. They had an emergency water shutoff for an hour or more in my whole "wing." The staff really did everything they could to try and help.

We always our stay at The Lodge at Vail. We always ask to be in their new section, lux room, Mountain View.. Those rooms are really nice. We did encounter a couple plumbing issues, like a slow draining shower, shower fixture coming off, etc.. but nothing egregious. The staff is very friendly and we always enjoy having g breakfast at their outdoor patio restaurant. Haven’t been to Elways for dinner, but it looks really nice!
