Our room was very small. Breakfast was underwhelming. I read the reviews and was expecting a much better breakfast and room, specially for the price I paid. Dinner at the restaurant was very good though, I would recommend that.

Shower head was bad. Sprayed all over the bathroom. Left the whole bathroom wet.

Checked into hotel as part of a road trip as a stopover. Dinner at hotel was good and staff was helpful and friendly. During the night, however, there was a roof leak that caused water to trickle into the room and drip over the desk next to the bed. Fortunately, we were able to move our electronics from the table quickly, but water continued to spill into the room. I went to the front desk to inform the reception staff about the issue, and lady there first just looked at me annoyed to be bothering her before taking an elevator to see the room, and when seeing the leak, apologized for the room and asked if we wanted to change rooms. Since this was 5:50am, we decided to just move on and continue our road trip, so we declined. Receptionist said that her manager was arriving onsite at 6:30am, and she can help make things right. After waiting for the manager to arrive, she (the manager) was not helpful and refused to issue a room refund and said we would have to speak with her General Manager who doesn't arrive until 10am. We had to escalate issue to hotels.com to help resolve and just moved on to continue our road trip rather than wait that long and lose time waiting for the hotel to make things right. Couple of things that stood out: staff's refusal to take responsibility of leak and ensure guest safety, dismissive attitude, no problem solving mentality, unapologetic, and unprofessional handling of a situation to escalate vs solve a problem.

Great iconic hotel. Well maintained with pleasant staff. Rooms are small because they just were in the good old days.

Gorgeous historic property, beautiful fountain courtyard, artistic tile lobby perfectly appointed with leather southwestern furniture to perfect the vibe. The food at the restaurant was top quality and the craft cocktails were literally perfect. Quiet and classy with comfortable beds and linens too. My only disappointment was that the fountain on our private patio was not functioning. Otherwise 5 stars!

Best place to stay in West Texas…. Lovely hotel with experienced staff, beautiful building and comfortable accommodations

This is a great hotel that’s close to the interstate, but far enough away for being very quiet and it has a fantastic restaurant👍

Liked everything. Wanted to stay longer. Room a little small but otherwise great for an old property. Restaurant was great.
-
Super clean room, good amenities but a bit too small by today standard. Staff was super friendly.. breakfast was okay!

The ladies at the front desk were very nice. The room and tv were small but for a one night stay it was perfect. The restaurant had good food and cold beer.

This was an overnight stop on our way to Dallas area. We didn't explore the area because we were in and out in a short period of time, but directly around the hotel there didn't seem to be much, other than a few eateries. We chose to have dinner at the hotel restaurant and both of us enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was continental style, offering the usual items most hotels do.

Every once in a while I run across an old historic hotel that has been maintained in (or restored to) its original condition. This is one. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Virtually perfect.
-
Adorable hotel! We really enjoyed our short stay. Rooms are small but clean and nice. Next time I want to opt for a room with the little private patio! Breakfast was really good as well.

Rooms and bed were quite small four double occupancy.

I look forward to stopping here every time we are traveling thru. The historic charm with Southwest feel is amazing. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine in the courtyard just listening to the live music down the street. The beds were comfortable, a/c worked great and more than just pastries are available in their continental breakfast. Can’t recommend it enough
