This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. I thought it would be very basic like a Moxy, the room was clean, and they had a nice little work area instead of a huge lobby, BUT they managed the temperature, which was annoying, when it was 100+. The friendly front desk staff made up for it. What I liked the most is the asst manager in the bar during the fireworks held his ground and maintained the party vibe, which tells me the overall hotel was well managed.

Excellent stay! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again!

I loved the location and the premier room I stayed in was a lovely sized space for two!

The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The bathroom especially had no visible mold stains (as many hotels do) and nothing was broken or worn. The AC worked very well, and the mini refrigerator made zero noise. The room was very comfortable and mostly quiet, with the exception of the fire/police sirens that frequented the area because of the 250th celebrations (and the Hotel has nothing to do with that). I did not particularly like the elevator situation. It made me feel unsafe not having the elevator buttons inside and the process of choosing floors was computerized using a touchscreen outside the elevator only. The hotel rooftop is lovely and very inviting. The service staff there were very friendly and polite and my meal/drink choices were tasty. I do find the “Urban fee” to be a bit much daily for 2 cans of water and in room Nespresso coffee pods that I didn’t always use. This fee also covers a restaurant discount and use of fitness amenities and a potential use of a bike that is limited to 45 minutes. So essentially I’m paying extra for things I don’t use and to get a discount for food/beverages I may not consume. The urban fee is daily, BTW-so it can be pricey. This, and a couple of housekeeping incidents is why I did not rate this hotel full stars. My advice to myself in the future is to pick a hotel within no more than 2 blocks or 10 minutes from a Metro station if not renting a car. Especially in the summer where it can easily reach 105 degrees.

Best hotel experience! And I travel a lot! Great location, great service, terrific communication with front desk, can even tip through a QR code (for those of us who never have cash!). And the refreshing citrus water in the lobby was delicious and much needed in the DC humidity!! The cafe on site had the most delicious pastries and coffee too!

    Great place to lodge.

I was really disappointed that we could not use the hotel pool during a heatwave due to party prep.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

My family and I had a short trip however the AC wasn’t working during a heat wave. I believe maintenance attempted to fix the matter but we checked out for our next adventure.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at DC’s “Arlo”, the service was excellent in all areas of the property, with great food, drinks, decor, and comfort. It will definitely be at the top of our list for future DC stays.

Great staff! Clean and convenient to all museums and the national mall. I would book again if back in dc. Nice coffee shop off the lobby. I highly recommend.

The staff was so very friendly and helpful. They were always willing to go out of your way to make you comfortable.

Probably the best staff I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. From the first moment to last.

Our second room was nice. AC was not working when we got to our first room. They sent up an “engineer” to see what was wrong…said it was 65 in the room…. No that was the setting for the cooling on the thermostat. Was in room for 5 hours fan never kicked on. Finally was given another room after requesting twice. The coffee spot was great, very nice. Breakfast ok, decided to go out the rest of the time as hotels menu was extremely limited and felt it was over priced. $18 for a simple breakfast sandwich on a hamburger bun (called a brioche bun in the menu) and a side of breakfast potatoes was $10. Less than a 10 minute walk to a very nice restaurant where I got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich with a side of fruit for $17 total

A very special thank you to Maddie at the front desk, who went above and beyond to help make our stay truly unforgettable. Many thanks to Michael at the front desk as well, along with the maintenance and cleaning staff. Everyone contributed to such a fantastic experience during our stay. In my opinion, the Arlo is the best place to stay in DC. I can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to staying there again.

Clean rooms and very helpful staff

Bed was so uncomfortable to me! I asked to be moved to an another room in hopes that the bed would be more comfortable. It seemed like it may have been because the room that I was transferred to was abe moved to an another room in hopes that the bed would be more comfortable. It seemed like it may have been because the room that I was transferred to was a bigger room in and of itself. However, there was a problem with the bathroom door, making a very loud obnoxious sound when closing. I informed the front desk who put me on hold for over 15 minutes. Once back on the line, they said they would get maintenance up to the room. Maintenance came up, relatively quickly. Upon coming to the room, maintenance stated that the problem would require outside sourcing, and they were unable to resolve the problem. Maintenance stated that they would inform the front desk to provide me with credit information or something for the inconvenience. Once I check the status of this, the front desk said that they were never made aware of the problem. Upon checking out, this made for a long drawn out process. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating, however, and decided to waive the up charge fee for the room I was moved to property with exquisite room, not so much.

Very nice hotel. Staff were outstanding and the hotel is very new. I’m a total germaphobe and felt it was acceptably clean, which is a lot for me to say. In terms of of downsides, none really. It is relatively close to anything you need to do, I was there for work but brought my kids. One suggestion-get new towels.
