Great location!

This was a fair place to stay for a few days. There was no refrigerator in the room, and the elevator took way to long to arrive. I had to use the stairs over 50% of the time. I understand waiting a few minutes, but over 10 minutes is unacceptable..

The best thing about this room was the proximity to Dog Haus and the Van Ness metro stop. There were roaches in the room, and there was no fridge. The best was WILDLY uncomfortable, but the pillows were "okay". The soap/shampoo actually smelled nice. I would never book this hotel again. The restaurant attached to the hotel was "okay" also. The staff member who let us store our bags before checkout was incredibly kind, but we didn't see her again, sadly. Also, no breakfast, so we had the burritos at Dog Haus. I recommend them about as equally as I do not recommend this hotel.

The location was nice and close to the nearest metro station, which made it easy for us to go where we wanted during our stay. I also liked the pillows and bed, which were comfortable and easy to adjust as needed. Our room faced the city street and had a nice view, which was a plus, and I liked that you had to use your room key in the elevator to get to the floors where people were staying. The property was also within walking distance from a CVS and Giant (local grocery store chain), so it's easy to get things you need nearby if necessary (though you could also get around easily on the Lime scooters/bikes). The machines in the lobby where you could purchase bottled drinks and snacks did not disclose the cost of any of the items (no price tags, they're just sitting in the coolers). It places a temporary hold on your bank account and doesn't send you a receipt unless you give it your phone number, and even then, it doesn't send until at least three hours later. The microwave in the lobby was also hiding in between said machines and the wall on a small table, so if you weren't actively looking for it, you wouldn't have been able to see it. The light inside the microwave did not work. Additionally, the ice machine on our floor didn't work, so we had to go to a different floor to get ice for our little container so we could cool our drinks/waters we ended up buying from the Giant down the street.

2 block walk to the Van Ness / UDC metro stop. A few close restaurants (sandwich shop, cafe, Italian, Starbucks) on the way to the metro as well as a Giant and CVS. Nice courteous staff. The room was a little small but accommodated 2 adults and 1 child easily.

The hotel is in a nice neighborhood with many restaurants in close proximity and walking distance. Also, close to metro stops.

The grout in the shower was dirty and so was the tile floor. You could see the dirt in the grooves of the floor tiles and build up in all the corners. I pulled out a towel that was actually the bottom of the clean towel pile and it was wet like it had been used then folded and put back. The carpet had a big wrinkle that was raised down the center of the room. The beds were not queen size, more like a small full size. And the mattress was shorter than the bed frame so I kept hitting my leg on the corners of the bed frame. No refrigerator in the room which made it hard to have cold drinks. The ice machine on my floor was broken and the ice bucket lid had mold on the underside and it was broken. The cleaning person didn’t leave more cups or a fresh bag for the ice bucket I used the first night. When I asked for a do not disturb sign for my door, because I had none, the cleaning person didn’t speak English and couldn’t understand me. It says there is a restaurant but you had to go outside and around to get to it. It was not part of the hotel. The elevator was very small we barely fit two people and two suitcases inside. Everything was very dated but looked like they tried to fix it with a fresh thick coat of paint but nothing else. It was not worth the price I paid.

It was close to the stuff i was there for Scary location full of homeless people,we tried the Italian restaurant next door after recommendation from lobby and the food was pretty nasty. Bathroom very old and kind of dirty so we didn’t take a shower. Beds were very uncomfortable and looks like someone already sleep on it ( black hairs on sheets),pillows were very uncomfortable too and old.

It’s a decent and affordable place to stay. That’s safe and close to public transportation and tour sights and restaurants!

Hotel would not accommodate me (military) needing to alter reservation due to military matters, citing "You already checked in, so we can't change your check out day to earlier without charging you a fee", even though I was [trying to] giving SIX DAYS notice. That is ridiculous. 6 days should be more than plenty of notice to cut a reservation short without penalty. They were just hiding behind policy as a means to money grab, just because they could.

The location was nice! Lots nearby, 20 mins from the Smithsonians. The staff was very kind. The beds were hard as rocks and the building itself is pretty outdated. The AC units weren't great and looked really old, and the showers smelled like mold. The walls are very thin as well, I could hear our neighbors watching TV all night and people talking in the halls early in the morning. The elevators are also very small and the key cards take several tries to work. The main entrance also was somewhat difficult to locate, especially for our Ubers.
