Omni Shoreham Hotel Washington DC

The one thing that I really highlighted this trip was the help that I received from Fernando from the check in counter and Eva M from concierge. They helped me to plan a perfect surprise for the birthday celebration. They both really took their time, Fernando helped me to sort out which section of the property will highlight this stay and Eva was wonderful putting together a surprise birthday present. The rooms were properly kept clean and refreshed as requested. The breakfast at Robert’s was delicious and coffee was just perfectly brewed.

Advertised as a family friendly hotel, but that was not the case. It seemed like more of a “convention” hotel that mostly had business travelers. Hotel needed some new paint and a good cleaning. If you have kids, you are better off staying at a Embassy Suite, Hilton, etc. The biggest positive was the proximity to the metro station and the zoo. Sadly we were not impressed.

Nice stately grand dame ..well maintained overall...lovely gardens and pool (did not use pool)...convenient to metro and DC sights and activities..nice lobby and restaurant plus comfortable "club" bar. Room was nice, clean and large enough though slightly musty smelling until we ran A/C for a while. Bathroom is small but clean. But all in all a really wonderful hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend.

Exceptional

The room was ok. I know the hotel was built a long time ago. But it needs maintenance or renovation for the room is sure. Beside of that, My room can hear the hallway noise with zero proof. Around 2-3am, people walking and talking wakes me up couple times.

Bad staff

We’ve been staying at the Omni Shoreham Hotel for years now. Our son went to college in the area and now lives there. The hotel is conveniently situated near the metro and the many interesting neighborhoods in Washington DC. The rooms are very comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. The rooms are generously sized for a city hotel. Dogs are permitted in the hotel and we frequently travel with ours. It’s just a completely comfortable, beautiful historic hotel and we feel at home there.

Economical rates somewhat available sometimes free street parking that’s safe, obviously vallet, great bars great staff great food. Breakfast isn’t free, but it’s wonderful.

The hotel was conveniently located for us to attend the various events we had scheduled for the weekend.

Staff are exceptional! Super friendly and very helpful. Anytime you need something, someone is there to help.

This property is breathtaking. The gardens and pathways are stunning. The staff is friendly and very efficient. We will be back for sire!
