Sunset Motor Inn

Close proximity to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital. The room was clean and comfortable but nothing fancy. The bathroom could use a refresh but it was clean. The owners were super nice and accommodating with my hospital schedule and let us have a late checkout.

I had help checking in at 1 am which can be impossible at small inns like this. The room was great and had an awesome view of the river out back. It was easy to check in and out. We had continental breakfast in the morning. It was great except that the waffle mix ran out, but we got there less than a half an hr before breakfast was over so that was probably why. The only other thing I didnt like so much was the suttle smell inside the room. They could definitely use some air fresheners to keep it smelling better.

The Riverview was spectacular, peaceful and quiet for the majority to stay woke up to a kid screaming the last day, but other than that, it wasn’t bad at all

In truth, it's an older property without a ton of bells and whistles but it was well maintained and clean. The beds were comfy, and the shower was hot. The views? Impeccable. The continental breakfast was modest but we weren't looking for 5 stars and spa appointments. We would be happy to stay again if our travels bring us back,

The location was nice quiet and enjoyable. Room was clean and very comfortable . The view of river was overgrown by shrubs . It advertises a river view you can see it but through thick trees .

Hotel was worn, rundown and not terribly clean especially the bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable.

This is an old school one story motor in on the CT river. My son and I stayed for an event at Dartmouth and loved it. All the people who work there are so so kind and I felt like I went back in time. We drove by some nearby chain hotels and were so glad we were staying at the Sunset.

I had a great visit here. I did find the shower a little small- hard to get away from the spay of water because of the tight quarters, Staff very helpful in providing a wake up knock on the door my last morning there. Will visit again for sure. Also good breakfasts provided.

The sheets were clean, the room was comfortable enough, but the room was stuffy with stale smell when we arrived. The staff happened to be there when we checked in, but was otherwise unavailable.

Overall I was quite pleased with this inn, and it certainly saved me some money compared to staying at the fancier places in town. Everything was really clean, the room was fairly well-appointed (including a microwave and mini-fridge!), the range of foods at breakfast impressed me for such a low budget place, and the staff were very polite and helpful and even let us stay an extra two hours on request. The shower knobs were so old they were hard to figure out + I never got the hang of how to balance hot and cold-- it seemed to veer between extremes no matter what I did with the knobs, and I almost couldn't get the water to turn off. The look of the room was not quite as aesthetically nice as the online pictures (no bedspreads, for instance), but this is a minor detail. Overall I was really pleased with this budget choice. I would stay here again.

The room was advertised as a lake-view room, but the windows were tiny to begin with and blocked half with the AC, and the rest was blocked by vegetation. The Bed was terrible; it was a spring bed, and my partner had back pain with it.

The room was NOTHING like advertised! We paid for a queen and had a full. The hair dryer plug was wrapped with electrical tape because it was broken and cracked. The bathroom door was duct taped together. The bed was horrible. It creaked and groan at the least movement. It was not a pleasant stay for the money we paid. The "continental breakfast" was the bare minimum.

View from rooms was nice, breakfast was good, staff was friendly. Good location. Price for this kind of motel was much higher than I'd have expected.
