Rio Motel and Suites

This hotel is disgusting and the management is horrendous. The hotel “office” is offsite at a property down the street with no one at the property to assist you if necessary. We were given a key to a room that was dirty and had to wait for it to be cleaned. Even after it was cleaned, there was trash under the beds and dirt on the floors. We were asked to pay $10 in cash for parking which was never disclosed and seemed to be a scam so we refused. The parking lot consists of 3 very tiny parking spots, so not sure where you have to park once those are full. The air conditioning in our room did not work at all leading to a very uncomfortable and sleepless night. When we brought this to the managers attention, we were told we should have contacted her when we noticed the issue, which was 11pm, and she would have had someone come and replace the unit, which would have been ridiculously inconvenient. We requested a refund and she refused and basically criticized us for booking through Expedia, using that as an excuse to not take accountability or offer compensation for any of the issues. The hotel lacks basic amenities, for example, the “ice machine” is a small countertop machine with very little ice for guests at 2 properties. Management is rude and unhelpful. Avoid this property

Location was great, and terrace was cute. Beds were comfortable and a good place for a couple friends to hang out. There were no soap for dishes or sponge to clean. There were no spoons. The blinds did suck and were not in the best shape. Privacy was minimal and could hear people outside.

The property had an AWFUL stench and there were crack heads haning around the property We did not like ANYTHING and we cancelled our reservation. We never stayed!

Room was very clean, tidy. Nice clean smell. We had a MW, full fridge, TV channels were great. I have a 4 because the parking was really bad and usually with checking in we get instructions or here’s what’s available for you but it was like we were sent on our own because we had to check in at a nearby hotel, not the one we stayed in. The first day we parked on the premises I was blocked in and could not get out. I had to walk back to the other hotel to ask for parking resolution. The receptionist was super nice and gave me a spot at the other hotel but I would like to have gotten instructions on parking when I checked in. Not a real inconvenience but a small hassle. All and all though it was a fine stay.

Got there at 3 for check in and didn’t realize I had to go to another hotel a block away. not a big deal until you have to walk back there 3 times because they don’t know where the key is. House keeping was not done cleaning the room till almost 4 pm. I had to wait outside with my 2 kids and wife for a hour. Then we finally get into the room and someone else’s underwear was left under the bed and 2 lighters. Shower pressure was non existent and same with the kitchen sink. All of the dirty sheets were stored under the stairs outside along with extra kitchen wares(cups plates bowls) just sitting in a laundry basket under the outdoor stairs.

There was a housekeeper but she didn’t clean out room during our stay. I went to the front to ask for towels and the lady at the front said she’d text the housekeeper but we didn’t get our towels. The day before else left (6 day stay) we finally tracked down the housekeeper for towels. When you look into the laundry room and housekeepers area, there were PILES of dirty towels and bedding. I noticed later that they covered it with a sheet. The room was so small my son was able to open the fridge while still in bed. On day two some lady opened the door while my son was changing. She was embarrassed and I heard her tell he friend that the lady in the front gave her my room number. On day three the same thing happened but it was a man and I was in bed. I told the lady at the front and she apologized but that man could have been a predator. There’s only three parking spots. The third bolt on the door was broken and there was a door going into the next room that only had a little lock… neighbors had easy access to enter our room. Rio is weird! AND the office is two blocks away! I will never stay here again ! I did not feel safe!

Parking was a block away at their sister motel, Rus Mar . Which is ok, I just wish I had known ahead of time that you also had to check in at the sister motel. Would have saved me from driving around and around looking like an idiot haha.

Great location to the beach and nearby shops.

Loved the kitchenette and the walk in shower. Tiled floor felt very safe, room clean. Bed comfy, air conditioner efficient. Parking was rough, especially getting out. Nice view.

The location was great. Showed up on time but room wasn't clean yet. When we did get in it really wasn't very clean.There's only around 8 rooms and parking for only 3 cars. Specified as kitchenette but no coffee maker. The best T hing was the location.

The location was the best option. But having an unlocked terrace leads to intruders. Everything else was dirty inside and outside. Had to ask for towels. Bathroom not convenient. Window in 1 bedroom kept opening up. Sink was dirty and had stuff sitting in the stopper.

The only positive thing was the location We had to be switched 3 times because the air conditioner doesn't work, the microwave glass tray was filthy, and the keypad on the microwave fell off. We had reservations until Wednesday, and at 7:30 am, the lady from the front desk just walked right into our room. Parking is terrible, with only 3 spots available; you have to go down a block or two to check in or get towels. The whole place is disgusting. The final room we stayed in still didn't have a working air conditioner, so we slept with the door open to get the cool air in. They wouldn't offer any compensation either. Also, the door to the fridge was installed on the wrong side, so if you wanted to use the fridge, you had to keep moving your bed.

Nothing. Hotel was shut down for roof. Leak was not notified. New room, smell like cigarettes and cigarettes and marijuana.

Location was great. Could use an update and some repairs. Checking in was a hassle no one on site and they didn’t answer the phone. Only knew where to go because another guest told us where to go. Parking was bad.

Good place to stay at only complain not a lot of parking space but the staff member Alex was very helpful.

It was at a good location The room had a bad smell the fire alarm went off randomly around 3 AM unprovoked no pool and it wasn’t the cleanest facility. There was stains on the bed dress the skirt around the bed and the floors were slimy like as if they had sunscreen or something all over them like they were very slippery And the soap that was there was really bad on our skin. One of the bedrooms had a very stiff bed. It was very hard to sleep on and the kitchen that we didn’t use, but we looked through it and some of the dishes were dirty in there.

The location was great. You can see the boardwalk from the room. A lot of things to see and do nearby. The room was not ready at 3:00 PM check in. I waited an extra 45 minutes until I could get in and after a 4 hour drive I was a bit frustrated. Once the maid service was finished, it looked like they did very little cleaning. There was trash from the previous people left under the sink, the floors were still full of sand and dirt, and the blankets were not changed (there was hair stuck in the blankets). The tables and countertops were dirty like they hadn’t been wiped down as well.

The suite was in an amazing location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful! Some parts of the suite are showing their age a little.
