    It was ok but cold

Property has some maintenance to take care of, but still cleanly. Staff and amenities were great.

    Motel felt safe.

    Clean room friendly staff

This was not a good experience. When we got to our room, there was a cockroach in the tub. When we informed the gentleman at the front desk, he not only did not look surprised but responded with "Do you want me to move you to another room or go up and unalive it?" We were moved to another room which now put us directly across from the railroad tracks with a very loud and active train. We informed the the front desk that we would not be staying another night. The morning we were checking out, we found the elevator was not working and had to carry our belongings down 4 flights of stairs. This hotel was the worst we've encountered both for cleanliness and service.

    Breakfast could use some upgrade

  • Engine customer Feb 2026

The breakfast was sub par. There was eggs that were powered and sausages that were not authentic. The pancakes were definitely the frozen type. All the hot food was lukewarm. It was in a great location to do some sightseeing near by.

Staff was very nice and accommodating. I requested adjoining rooms and received that. Breakfast was good. I would go back again.

Room was clean. Staff was courteous. Breakfast was ok. Coffee and orange juice were excellent. Sausage links and patties mot very tasty.

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

Everything was great except for barking dogs. The people in the room down the hall would go out and leave their dog alone in the room. The dog would bark incessantly until they returned.

Hotel cleanliness left something to be desired. The elevator was difficult to locate and slow to use. Staff were friendly but probably wouldn’t stay here again.

I will never stay at this place again and I have stayed in the past with no problems at all. One, the hotel is under renovation which is great, but I was traveling with my dog and was put in an older area of the hotel and my room was dirty, there was no shower curtain. When I went to ask for one, it was not provided and was told it would be there when I got back. It was not. I’m pretty sure the sheets were not changed between guest. The property itself is supposed to be pet friendly, but it did not feel very safe for dog walking as a single woman. My experience this time was completely different than the last time I stayed here. On the morning of my departure there was a charge on my credit card of $2,900. When I confronted the hotel staff about this, he laughed at me and something about a pre-auth for the entirety of my stay. I was there for one night and booked through Expedia, so there should not have been any additional charges besides a deposit and pet fee. Overall, the experience was awful. I’ve written multiple reviews and have never given a property zero stars before, but beware of this scuzzy hotel.

    No egg, no fresh fruits

    The bed uncomfortable

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

The staff was very responsive to our requests.

First night found cockroach crawling on the floor. The first floor back to door to enter the building doesn't shut properly (more likely for more bugs) and people who aren't staying there can access the hotel through the back entrance (safety issue in my opinion). Why put the sensor for guests to use their room key if the door doesn't even shut? We could hear our neighbors clear as day and they weren't even yelling. Dogs bark for hours!! Overall, very outdated. I've stayed here before 2 years ago and did not have this experience I don't know what happened. Hopefully they can fix these issues. If I need a cheap place for a night I would stay here but don't recommend for an extended trip.

The front lobby was decorated for the holidays with quaint charm. Beyond the charm, everything was clean; the reception area, the hallways, the elevator, breakfast area, and the rooms were all very clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The blackout curtains were wonderful! The shower worked fine with lots of hot water and good water pressure; it was slow draining, though, so we mentioned it to Ajay at check-out and we're confident that issue will be tended to ASAP. Although a few reviews mentioned slow wi-fi, we did not have any trouble with the wi-fi at all. We went to breakfast at 9am and there was plenty of hot foods with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and biscuits-n-gravy available. However, there were no muffins, bagels, or pastries of any type left. Just a lot of empty shelves which should have contained those items. Chuck, the helpful breakfast attendant, said those items had run out already (breakfast started at 7am) and while he did have additional trays of banana nut muffins and other pastries, he couldn't put them out for guest consumption until the next day. It's necessary to climb steps to get to the tea/coffee/juice area and that would've problematic for me if I was alone as I'm in a wheelchair. We recommend this as a clean and comfy place to stay in Williamsburg.

The 1st room we were given which wasn't very clean to begin with was across the hall from a dog that was constantly barking, making it impossible to sleep. The front desk person was nice enough to switch us to another room. However, the 2nd room was FILTHY. The refrigerator was full of food from the previous guest which we told the front desk person about. We didn't discover later that the sheets had HAIR in them so we ended up sleeping on top of the covers. The bathroom also had hair, toothpaste on the mirror, and just dirty. It felt as though just the towels were changed between stays and the bed re-made without changing the sheets or cleaning anything. Our room wasn't made up after the 1st night (towels, bed done, etc.) The whole time we were there all we saw was an old vacuum in the hallway. We never saw a room cleaner going from room to room. I understand this is an older hotel and on the cheaper side but we've NEVER seen a place like this before. We're extremely disappointed and would never expect this from a national brand like Best Western.

    Urine on bed sheets.

Been going to this hotel an average of twice annually since 2001. This last trip, first time ever, I was forced to pay an outrageous "incidentals deposit"!!!! Very disappointed!!!
